The Billy-Bo is a modern version of the Jupiter Thunderbird designed in 1959 by Bo Diddley himself. Billy F. Gibbons fell in love with an original given to him by Bo Diddley, but added some of his own mojo to this new version that he created as his touring axe. The Billy-Bo features a heavily chambered mahogany body, one-piece mahogany neck, ultra-thin laminate maple top, TV Jones Power'Tron (neck) and Power'Tron "Plus" (bridge) pickups, pinned Adjusto-matic™ bridge, and Schaller Straplocks. It's a dirty, low-down rock guitar with serious credentials and a vibe that hasn't lessened in nearly 50 years.

Gretsch® Instrument Limited Lifetime Warranty
FMIC warrants your Gretsch brand instrument to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for as long as it is owned by the original retail purchaser, except that pickups, switches, jacks, controls, all other electronic components, tuning machines, hardware, pickguards, plated surfaces, gig bags, cases and case hardware are warranted for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. This warranty applies only to the original retail purchaser when this instrument is purchased from an Authorized Gretsch Dealer and is subject to the limitations set forth herein. IMPORTANT: PLEASE RETAIN YOUR ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT, AS IT IS YOUR PROOF OF PURCHASE VALIDATING THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.
FMIC has established a network of independent Authorized Service Centers for warranty service. The Gretsch Dealer from whom you purchased your instrument may also be authorized for warranty service and should be the first point of contact when service of any kind is required for your Gretsch instrument. To receive warranty service, return the complete instrument to an Authorized Service Center, with your sales receipt as proof of purchase, during the applicable warranty period. Defective components that qualify for coverage under this warranty will be repaired or replaced (at FMIC's discretion) without charge. Remedies beyond normal service repair of any Gretsch instrument require both an evaluation and confirmation of the defect and a direct recommendation to FMIC from an Authorized Service Center for alternative considerations.
All transportation, insurance and freight charges associated with warranty service and repairs on Gretsch instruments are the responsibility of the purchaser, as is any service initiated for the purpose of customizing setups or adjustments beyond factory specifications. Initial standard setup and adjustment of the instrument and its components at the time of purchase are considered normal Dealer product preparation, and are not covered by this warranty.

I played a Gretsch G6128T-TVP Power Jet, which I loved but gave into the 'vibe' of what I thought would be in the Billy Bo. I found it to be uncomfortable when trying to sit and uninspiring when playing it. Didn't care for the chunky neck or the balance of the guitar. It's to light for my taste and feels a little cheap. I though it would be much easier to reach the upper register over the G6128T but was wrong. It gets thick quick near the body. Action felt sloppy and just wasn't for me. The TV Jones imo were average on this and can't explain why. Do yourself a favor and play if before buying. I'll go back to the G6128. Less money and far more bang for the dollar.
Being both a fan of Bo Diddley and Billy Gibbons, I have enjoyed their music for many years. Having had an opportunity play with Bo in the late 50's in Nashville, I witnessed the move from the "rectanglar box" that Bo played to the Gretsch Jupitor....These don't grow on trees but can be had. Mine has been "touched" custom Gretsch Bigsby and parts from the custom shop at Gretsch and it is truly a beauty to play!
i play blues rock and this is one of the best i own this thing is great i love the tv jones sound i owned it for about 1 year and it is great no problems and it is one of the easyest guitars to play it is very light and the neck is really fast and it is one of the coolest things ive ever saw
