Gretsch® Instrument Limited Lifetime Warranty
FMIC warrants your Gretsch brand instrument to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for as long as it is owned by the original retail purchaser, except that pickups, switches, jacks, controls, all other electronic components, tuning machines, hardware, pickguards, plated surfaces, gig bags, cases and case hardware are warranted for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. This warranty applies only to the original retail purchaser when this instrument is purchased from an Authorized Gretsch Dealer and is subject to the limitations set forth herein. IMPORTANT: PLEASE RETAIN YOUR ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT, AS IT IS YOUR PROOF OF PURCHASE VALIDATING THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.
FMIC has established a network of independent Authorized Service Centers for warranty service. The Gretsch Dealer from whom you purchased your instrument may also be authorized for warranty service and should be the first point of contact when service of any kind is required for your Gretsch instrument. To receive warranty service, return the complete instrument to an Authorized Service Center, with your sales receipt as proof of purchase, during the applicable warranty period. Defective components that qualify for coverage under this warranty will be repaired or replaced (at FMIC's discretion) without charge. Remedies beyond normal service repair of any Gretsch instrument require both an evaluation and confirmation of the defect and a direct recommendation to FMIC from an Authorized Service Center for alternative considerations.
All transportation, insurance and freight charges associated with warranty service and repairs on Gretsch instruments are the responsibility of the purchaser, as is any service initiated for the purpose of customizing setups or adjustments beyond factory specifications. Initial standard setup and adjustment of the instrument and its components at the time of purchase are considered normal Dealer product preparation, and are not covered by this warranty.

Dropping a bundle on a new guitar always makes me nervous. I have been playing for over 50 yrs and have owned Gibsons (Les Paul Standard), Fenders (Jazzmasters and Strats) Guilds (accoustic) and a dozen others. First, let me say that dealing with the Guitar Center has been a pleasure. I found them to be helpful, courteous, and professional. Opening the case, I saw The double cutaway, brown Country Gentleman with all the bells and whistles. That was nice. Playing it, however, is a life changing experience for this guitarist. Everything is made to the highest standards. The tuning pegs are amazingly accurate, the neck perfect in all ranges, but most of all, the sound through those pick ups is incredible. No matter how I tried, with the Fenders and the Gibson, I could never get that "Johnny Smith" or "Barney Kessel" jazz sound.
Imagine that you have ridden horseback all your life on a plough horse, and then one day you get a thorough bred. I am inspired to improve my technique because an instrument this beautiful demands it. It is a hefty price, no doubt, but you get what you paid for.
Ok, so first I walk into a guitar center to try out SG's. While trying the model with P90's, my eye catches this large red guitar. I was talking to one of the staff at the store, and I gestured towards the guitar and said i'd never tried one before. He brought this guitar over to me, and we plugged it in to a Fender amp (I think it was a pro reverb). Anyway, I don't listen to much Chet Atkins, but this thing screamed blues. It was an amazing sounding guitar, very clean and bluesy. I would have bought it on the spot, but it was a little out of my price range. Overall, a great guitar.
