Brian Setzer 6120SSUGR

Ahhh What a pleasure to play. I have been saving all year for a new guitar as a reward for a great business year. I played them all since January, Fenders, Gibsons, PRS's and itwas great fun, but I just never fell in love until I started playing Gretschs. I started playing several Duo Jets, and Soon moved to the Setzers Nasville models. Brian these guitars do you proud. Mine has the Sperzel locking tuners, Bigsby tremolo and the newly added T.V. Jones Pickups . Switches and knobs all move smoothly without static, action is a little high, but a 1/2 turn on the truss rod with the included wrench made it play like a dream. Strap locks are included and easily installed on your favorite leather strap. The Finish really knocks you out. I got the Flamed maple in green. Oh yes Green, so I'm not a purest. Thanks to Brian Setzer for puttingf together such a great axe, and Ryan at GC Towson for ordering this beauty for me.

Twang On

The Setzer SSU is a top-notch hollowbody. Made by Japan's best craftsmen, it has all the appointments you'd expect in a replica of a classic Gretsch design. Inlays, bindings, finish are all beautifully done. The switches are a little snaky and need TLC to keep them from going crackly when switching, but overall the electronics sound great used in a variety of clean to driven settings. Use on a '59 Bassman and you are a Rockabilly God!! The Setzer SSU is the cheaper version of the lacquered edition. Didn't have a chance to compare, but I would assume they are similar.
