First created in 1958 in celebration of Gretsch's 75th anniverary, its 2-tone smoke green color was taken from that era's Cadillac. Reissued in 1993 to celebrate Gretsch's 110th anniversary, it features a laminated rock-maple neck, ebony-stained rosewood fingerboard, black headpiece with pearl inlay, multiple body binding, laminated maple body, dual high-sensitivity Filter'Tron™ adjustable pickups, and a Gretsch "G" tailpiece. Includes hardshell case.
Gretsch® Instrument Limited Lifetime Warranty FMIC warrants your Gretsch brand instrument to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for as long as it is owned by the original retail purchaser, except that pickups, switches, jacks, controls, all other electronic components, tuning machines, hardware, pickguards, plated surfaces, gig bags, cases and case hardware are warranted for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. This warranty applies only to the original retail purchaser when this instrument is purchased from an Authorized Gretsch Dealer and is subject to the limitations set forth herein. IMPORTANT: PLEASE RETAIN YOUR ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT, AS IT IS YOUR PROOF OF PURCHASE VALIDATING THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. FMIC has established a network of independent Authorized Service Centers for warranty service. The Gretsch Dealer from whom you purchased your instrument may also be authorized for warranty service and should be the first point of contact when service of any kind is required for your Gretsch instrument. To receive warranty service, return the complete instrument to an Authorized Service Center, with your sales receipt as proof of purchase, during the applicable warranty period. Defective components that qualify for coverage under this warranty will be repaired or replaced (at FMIC's discretion) without charge. Remedies beyond normal service repair of any Gretsch instrument require both an evaluation and confirmation of the defect and a direct recommendation to FMIC from an Authorized Service Center for alternative considerations. All transportation, insurance and freight charges associated with warranty service and repairs on Gretsch instruments are the responsibility of the purchaser, as is any service initiated for the purpose of customizing setups or adjustments beyond factory specifications. Initial standard setup and adjustment of the instrument and its components at the time of purchase are considered normal Dealer product preparation, and are not covered by this warranty. When I first held this Green Goddess in lap and ran my hand up and down her smooth slender neck it was love at first sight. Her big chrome knobs beckoned me to twiddle them, and I must warn you, twiddle at your own risk, as my twiddling has become incessant. Please, don't get me started on those magical tuners! They pull her strings so firm and they never pop out of her slots or saddles. Her body's perfect curves snuggle comfortable under your arm as though she understands how good she feels there. I have only one concern; in your excitement to play her just be careful not to get your fingers caught in her "G" tailpiece. Peace out, Theodore
Probably the best range and sound than any other guitars I have played on. I have played Gibson sg's to les pauls, to fender strats and teles, Prs's to Esp's and this guitar by far blows them out of the water. I cannot praise this guitar enough. Awesome for any kind of music. You can get any sound from this guitar from punk and rockabilly to country, blue grass all the way to soft R and B, you can even crank out the Metal on the lad if you want! I Own it, love it, and will never part with this guitar.
