Vintage look, vintage Gretsch sound, and a sweet price.

The single cutaway Gretsch Guitars Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar recalls the glory days of the early '60s. Back then, Gretsch guitars set the standard for rock, rockabilly, and country guitar. It has a semi-hollow body, arched maple top, mahogany back, set mahogany neck, and a rosewood fretboard. The pickups are Gretsch mini dual-coils, with volume, tone, and 3-way selector. It also features an Adjusto-Matic bridge with G-cutout tailpiece, chromeplated hardware, and a gloss urethane finish. Very cool.

  • Just shut up and try it!

As reviewed by J.S on 12/6/2010

I am sick to death of people saying "this is a Chinese Gretsch... It's not a Les Paul... It's not American made" who cares? If you want to be the guy who has to have a 7000.00 piece and you don't play guitar as your main source of cash flow then you're and idiot. I have 2 Gibby's a few "American Made" Ovations and 1 American Fender and I would take the Pepsi challenge any day of the week with the Gretsch PJ. Yeah the mini-hum aren't the best in the world, but it's an inexpensive guitar and a great platform for modding it out. If you want to do the math.. 500.00 guitar, upgrade the pups, bridge and tuners... another 450.00.. thats 1000.00 TOTAL with tax and shipping charges... still under the cost of a mid range Gibson and it will kick the Gibbys butt. I've gigged it and used it for recording and it doesn't let me down. Look, don't listen to me, try the guitar. Out of the box it plays alright, do some minor adjustments, and a string change and the next thing you'll feel is pure love for it. A great guitar for beginners to professionals. If you're one of those guys hung up on American made guitars and have to have the best name brand stuff then you're probably going to look elsewhere while still trying to learn to play an open G.

  • Chinese... you sure?

As reviewed by Richard Rigby on 10/4/2011

I've had this guitar for about 6 months now and it is just amazing. I am a big fan of the Gretsch Electromatic series. I'm a poor 15 year old that loves to play. haha. and i wanted an axe straight out of the 60's considering i play a lot of older rock and this is by far the best cheap chinese guitar ever. its got classic gretsch sound, very elegant and simplistic, and it can take a beating. I've done shows where it down poored, had this thing drop to the ground because of a bad strap a few times and everthing is great. tuning, sound, finish, playability is just amazing. thanks Gretsch.
