Impeccable Guitar... Unbelievable Price

I just purchased this after shopping around for hollow-bodied electrics for the past 3 months. Although I was ready to spend up to $2500 for a decent guitar, I chose this one because of its playability and affordability. Why pay more when you can have such a quality product with such rich tonal depth and color?

Sweet Guitar - Little I Would Change..

I bought the Electromatic in Black at a super clearance price. I believe it is worth every bit of the internet price though. I am not very fond of the tuners.. seem sloppy and not in keeping with rest of guitar. Like the Bigsby tailpiece and master volume and tone knobs. Purchased with a Fender Blues Junior and sounds great even plugged directly into the amp. Warm sounding neck pickup.

Gretsch Electromatic Hollowbody (GREAT AXE)

I hope you got yours a while ago like I did because the new tuners they put on these guitars suck. Other than that this guitar is totally worth the price. It's made just as good as the Nashville and these DeArmond pickups give you that great dirty rockabilly tone. The only thing is that my volume pots already are shorting out, probably because I live in Southern California playing in 100 degree weather sweating on it all the time. I love the guitar and it's really become a part of me.

just a couple of minor niggles

This is SUCH a bargain. I'd been looking for a hollow body and was pretty much resigned to selling a kidney. Looks great, plays great, sounds great. Two things I would change- the bridge pickup just isn't as sweet as the neck pickup, (it's still very usable- just not as nice) and in one or two places the finish on the binding is not quite as great as it could be.

An Absolute Must Have

For all of the gretsch models, this is by far the best for the cost. The only one that is better is the brian setzer model but at 3 times the price. The G5125 has a smooth mellow tone but also can get grungy with a little tweeking. Surprizingly light weight and easy to play.
