NEW REVIEW - Totally Sweet!

I got this kit about 3 months ago and it has served me well! I keep meaning to get new heads for it but the stock heads work fine for what I do which is mainly jazz and stuff for the school band. I also play in a hardish rock band and it is great for that too. The four toms really give you somewhere to go while playing. I keep mine tuned to a minor third, a fourth, and a minor third. This keeps the mounted and floor toms separated and the range at a good standing. My only complaints are that it doesn't come with hardware but I guess the plus side of that is that you get to choose whatever kind you want. I went Yamaha because it was the least expensive. Other things that have happened is one of the spurs on the bass drum is a little wobbly right now but it is just the nuts coming loose on the inside. Not a major fix. The high floor tom had a rattle in it for a while but I could never find the source. Then I tuned my set and it went away. Go figure. A muffle on the snare would be nice but it sounds great anyway. The bass is amazing! It sound like thunder from down under! This is a great set! It was such a huge relief from my silly little Ludwig that I have nursed and cared for since I was 10. This puppy should keep me going for a while

NEW REVIEW - Right choice from so many brands...

I could not be happier with this set. Maple drums are expensive and this price was a sweet deal! They sound great and exceed my expectations beyond what I was looking for in a long term drum set.

Amazing Kit

I've been playing for two years and got this set as and upgrade. The price is the best you will get for a maple drum set. Even with factory drum heads they sound wonderful, but like all drum sets a good set of Remo's or Evan's will make this set sound even better. All three of the finishes are beautiful, especially the cherry red. The tom mounting system is great because it has the the ball and shock mounts, or what ever it is. The only thing that I didn't like was the snare drum. There is no internal muffler on it so it rings out to much for my liking. Some kind of muffler and a new head would make the snare sound much better. All in all this is a great set that will last you forever and sounds great.

GET THIS SET

If your into metal, or really any kind of music this is the set to get. The heads are ok, but i would get some evans G2 drum heads. I play in a death metal band and i have had this set for three years, very sturdy, sounds great. I would recomend this set for anyone.

Sounds Great, Looks Great, Great Price

This is my first real drum set. and i was a little skeptic about the sound cause its pretty cheap for a maple shell, but i dont regret buying it one bit, i'm really happy i bought this. The saying what you pay for is what you get, well i think that you get more for what you pay for. get this set if your looking for good quality. the red one looks pretty stupid, i got the amber one, its beautiful looking. like any other set the stock heads arent the best, but i use remo emperors on mine and it sounds even better
