Classic Gretsch features include 7-ply, 7.2mm maple shells with 30-degree bearing edges and totally adjustable ball-and-socket tom holder. 22" x 18" kick, 10 x 8" and 12 x 9" toms, 8 x 7" tom, and 14 x 14" and 16 x 16" floor toms, and 14" x 6" snare. Cymbals and hardware sold separately.
I bought this set for my recording studio. We have used them now for one week. They sound amazing. The set comes with Evans heads and I use the efusion rings to control overtones. I do plan to change to Evans EC2 heads soon. I am still experimenting with tom tunings but they are very close now. The fit and finish on this set of drums is beautiful and the hardware looks great too. Everything appears to be very well made and done in a skilled craftsman manner. They are permanently set up and recorded using a D112 on the kick, SM57 on snare, a pair of MD21's on toms and a pair of Shure SM81 condensors on the overheads.
