Overview

If you have a high quality acoustic or vintage guitar you owe it to yourself to hear the difference a TUSQ saddle will make. Compared to standard materials, you'll hear crystal clear bell-like high end, big open lows, and a noticeable increase in overall sustain.

TUSQ saddles are designed to transfer the right frequencies more efficiently from the string to the guitar body, and have been proven to increase a guitar's harmonic sustain. Acoustic guitars come alive with delicate highs and big open lows!

TUSQ is far superior in sound and appearance to synthetics such as Micarta and Corian. The high levels of heat and pressure used in making TUSQ results in its exotic ivory-like appearance.

Join those who know great guitar tone! TUSQ is used by: Martin, Taylor, Larrivee, Gibson Acoustic Guitars, Tacoma Guitars, Ovation, Rick Turner, Garrison Guitars, Breedlove, Manuel Rodriguez, Rainsong, Carvin, Landola and many, many more.

TUSQ has quickly become an important tone performance tool for many guitar manufacturers, luthiers and playing professionals around the world. TUSQ saddles have rich tone and sustain, without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone and other natural materials.

Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain), throughout each piece, hampering consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top.

I purchased this saddle to replace a cracked graphite saddle that I had in my Grandpa's Conn Acoustic. The action was super high, but I was able to lower it safely by sanding down the saddle. The man-made material is unbelievably hard. I started sanding slowly to make sure I wasn't taking too much off at a time, but it was hard enough to be aggressive with. It completely changed the sound of the guitar. It sounded muffled and dead before, but now it sounds crystal clear. I'm going to replace the nut and bridge pins with TUSQ now.

Good fit

Replaced missing saddle. I had to sand it down to how it originally look on my ibanez acoustic guitar. Besides that it's a good quality saddle.

TUSQ Fully Compensated Saddle

By Felix

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ Fully Compensated Saddle 1/8":

It went on a 6 year old Yamaha F-335. It doesn't take much of a musician to imediately notice clearer highs, deeper lows and more resonance with everything in-between. It took me a few times on and off, sanding about a millimeter at a time 'till I got it where I liked it(2mm higher that the original for high E and the same as original for low E). With new bronze plated steel strings, it now sounds like a more costly guitar.

AWESOME

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ Fully Compensated Saddle 1/8":

I knew that the original saddle was soft and the strings were cutting deeply into it so I wanted to repkace it. Looked at several brands and read many reviews and decided to go with this due to the product description and reviews. I knew it needed several adjustments with sanding, so I calculated and made my marks and started sanding, the bottom needed aout 5/32 removed, a nothe were the solder joint was on the elctronic pickup that sat beneath the saddle and about 2/32 on the sides at the bottom 1/8 inch this was to allow for the saddle to fit into the pickup plate. Action is now wonderful and the sound quality is truly clean. I did this on my EG530SSC TAKAMINE Acoustic Guitar with a TK-40 pickup http://www.youtube.com/user/acousticphases

        Saddle Replacement on DEAN Acoustic-Electric

        By Stephen Turner

        from Travelers Rest, SC

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ Fully Compensated Saddle 1/8":

With a bit of sanding, and filing I replaced a cheap plastic saddle that was leaning forward about 10 degrees or so that came stock on my DEAN Acoustic-Electric "AEP" with the recent purchase of this TUSQ Fully Compensated BONE 1/8" saddle. After a truss rod adjustment the overall sound improved...

        Graph Tech TUSQ Saddle

        By William Ostrander

        from Cheyenne, WY

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ Fully Compensated Saddle 1/8":

I installed this saddle on a guitar that has been well loved for over 20 years. The tone from the original bone saddle was pretty good. After installing the new saddle the tone was AWESOME. I was astounded that a saddle could totally transform the tone. It also equalized the volume of each string. Installation was fairly easy. Take your time and get it right the first time. Make sure the bottom of the saddle fully contacts the bridge at ALL points. You will be amazed. I am fairly sceptical when it comes to "new and improved". However, these guys got it right. GRRRRRRRRRREAT product! I am going to install it on all of my accoustic guitars.

        Very impressed

        By Noah Paradise

        from Punta Gorda, Florida

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ Fully Compensated Saddle 1/8":

I bought this saddle because the saddle that came with my first acoustic was starting to break (I've had it for 5 years and the saddle was plastic.) When i received the saddle i had a bit of trouble inserting it into the silt. I had to trim it down with an electronic hand sander for a couple hours. But when I finally got it in, and re-tuned the guitar, the sound was completely different. It was much sharper and clearer than ever before. The sustain was increased by quite a bit as well. Paired with a set of elixirs, my 140 dollar guitar sounds 10 times better. The action of the strings was raised by a small amount and was a little more difficult to play, but that plays a huge part in giving the guitar more sustain, so I'm very OK with it! I would definitely recommend this saddle!
