If you have a high quality acoustic or vintage guitar, you owe it to yourself to hear the difference a TUSQ saddle will make. Compared to standard materials, you'll hear crystal clear bell-like high end, big open lows, and a noticeable increase in overall sustain.

TUSQ saddles are designed to transfer the right frequencies more efficiently from the string to the guitar body, and have been proven to increase a guitar's harmonic sustain. Acoustic guitars come alive with delicate highs and big open lows!

TUSQ is far superior in sound and appearance to synthetics such as Micarta and Corian. The high levels of heat and pressure used in making TUSQ results in its exotic ivory-like appearance.

Join those who know great guitar tone! TUSQ is used by: Martin, Taylor, Larrivee, Gibson Acoustic Guitars, Tacoma Guitars, Ovation, Rick Turner, Garrison Guitars, Breedlove, Manuel Rodriguez, Rainsong, Carvin, Landola and many, many more.

TUSQ has quickly become an important tone performance tool for many guitar manufacturers, luthiers and playing professionals around the world.

Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain), throughout each piece, hampering consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top.

TUSQ nuts have rich tone and sustain, without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone and other natural materials..

Acoustic Guitar Saddle Blank

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ 3/32" Acoustic Guitar Saddle Slab:

I'm not a guitar repair pro, but I do have a small working knowledge in this arena. My son has a Epiphone Hummingbird which had some slight buzzing. After evening out some of the frets, and taking a small bow out of the neck, it looked like it still needed just a little more height from the saddle. That's why I purchased this saddle blank. The length came oversized which was fine, it just needed to be cut to fit; and then just some conturing along the top. After about 20 min. he was back playing, but this time, no more buzzing.

Makes a cheap guitar sound great.

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ 3/32" Acoustic Guitar Saddle Slab:

I don't have lots to spend on expesive Martins or Ovations, but over the years I have learned to turn cheaper guitars into great sounding instruments by using add on equipment. I just turned a cheap Sky acoustic bass into a concert worthy piece by replacing the dull piezo pickup and making a custom saddle from this Tusq blank to replace the soft, cheap, dead sounding plastic saddle. I have improved a few guitars using Tusq saddles and nuts and each time I leave the old strings on so it is a fair assesment of the sound change and each time it improves the sound and sustain immensely. Then if I add new quality strings to the equation, well..........So if you have the abilty to shape these into custom saddles then this is the way to go and if not, Tusq offers pre made ones to which I've used too.

An overlooked component, a great tone improvement.

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ 3/32" Acoustic Guitar Saddle Slab:

This is a great replacement saddle. I bought the block instead of the "drop in" saddles because I wasn't sure about the size of the slot on my guitar. So I had to cut it and trim it and took me quite a while since I don't own the proper tools, but I got great results with a dremel and some sandpaper. My guitar has now the perfect action with great sustain and tone.
I bought this with the corresponding pins and I must say I think the saddle is a better value than the pins.
If you know your guitar's slot measurements, buy the preformed saddles. If not, you're going to prepare yourself for a lot of filing!

Nice saddle for a good price

Comments about Graph Tech TUSQ 3/32" Acoustic Guitar Saddle Slab:

I recently received an entry level guitar as a gift that needed some work. After cutting a new nut which helped to improve tone, I decided to make further enhancements so I ordered this saddle slab. My old saddle was plastic so I was skeptical about putting on yet more man made "junk". I had never worked on a guitar before, as I have played banjos and mandolins for years so this was going to be a first. Others I asked had mixed reviews about TUSQ but I decided to go for it. Tusq is a manufactored material, but not plastic. My experience was it was easier to work with than bone and seems to display many of the nicer qualities of bone without the difficulties such as cutting and shaping. Cutting and shaping was acomplished by me at my home useing a bench grinder, sand paper and caliper dial-for precise measurements. It took less than 20 minutes from start to finish to remove my old saddle, cut and shape this saddle and have the intonation I always dreampt of. The instrument now rings true all over the fretboard, it has crisp clear highs, deep clear lows and nice mid range. And it is my understanding that TUSQ is just as hard as bone, so it should not wear out for a long long time-if ever. If you are looking for a new saddle, but afraid to tackle the job yourself, fear not, the package comes with instructions on how to cut and shape it using just sandpaper. A nice saddle material, that is easy to work with.
