Comments about Gorilla Tips Fingertip Protectors:

this is the best choice for beginners, and an excellent choice for someone who like to plays for extended guitar practice, they are comfortable, not noticeable. The only problem I had was when transitioning/sliding chords the tips stick/drag slowing your chord changes (not enough to ruin your sounds) but an experienced guitar player will notice right off, this is excellent for a lead guitarist (bending and so on) but not good for extreme fast action. Overall best choice for saving finger tips like what they made for.

      DO NOT GET FOR BASS!!!

      By JD

Comments about Gorilla Tips Fingertip Protectors:

These fit and feel well. The problem is they do not slide at all. If you need to slide up or down the neck they stick to the bass stings like glue and feel like they are going to break your finger off...

      Pros

      • Provided some level of fingertip protection

      Cons

      • They are a bit thinner than expected

      Best Uses

      • Practice for beginners and "band aid" for injury

Comments about Gorilla Tips Fingertip Protectors:

Due to an injury on my index finger I needed something to use to protect the finger so I could keep playing. These would be a much better solution if they were twice the thickness and of a material that did not seem to hang up on the strings as much...Seemed like latex but not sure. A harder silicon would be better with a slightly thinner pad on the tip. They still were a big help and I would recommend them for any guitar player to have in their emergency kit. They could save a gig.

ALL GUITAR SHOPS SHOULD SELL THESE

Comments about Gorilla Tips Fingertip Protectors:

I use these to give me a more mellow sound when I play bass. And…I don't have to keep my fingernails trimmed really short. The measurement info to determine sizing was accurate. I am hoping the silicone will last for a long time meanwhile I hope more guitar shops start to carry them.

        Eliminates Damaged Nerve Ending Pain

        By Kevin

        from Wilmington, NC

Comments about Gorilla Tips Fingertip Protectors:

My left hand index finger suffered permanent nerve damage and fingertip disfiguration when crushed in an accident 40 years ago. I quit learning the guitar at the time of the accident but have never lost the desire to play the guitar. I have tried several times over the years to work around the disfigured finger but the sensitivity from the injured nerve endings, and the disfiguration (soft topped no real shape to the tip that spreads and contacts adjacent strings) was always too much to get past.
I had very little expectation that this product would work for me but I was very pleasantly surprised. I use the Gorilla Tips on the index finger only. The product for me is amazing in that the thickness of the product that some folks complain about actually works for me in that the product reshapes my finger to a normal tipped shaped finger, and the nerve end sensitivity is amazingly dulled to a very tolerable level. The interesting part is that the skin directly under the gorilla tip is becoming callused at about the same rate as the rest of my fretting fingers.

Amazing - Allows hours of practice without pain

        By G

        from Santa Barbara, CA

Comments about Gorilla Tips Fingertip Protectors:

These worked much better than I expected when I received them. I did not think they would help much because they are not very thick. I was gladly mistaken. I am able to play for hours. Yes, my fingertips get warm in them but the tips did not slide off. The warmth was a minor annoyance. I do not notice them (other than being able to play with out pain) - in reading the other reviews - I'd say make sure you get the correct size. They are thin and are in my experience, no way bulky nor do they get in the way. I have had these for just over a month and they are still holding up well, still looking and feeling new after ample use.

        Sweat it off

        By Russell McCormick

        from Myrtle Beach,S.C.

Comments about Gorilla Tips Fingertip Protectors:

These tips do what the manufacture claims they would do; less pain so you can practice longer. But you can't practice longer, your finger tips start to sweat and they slide off. Clumsy. Russell

not a good buy at all

        By matt watts

        from florida

Comments about Gorilla Tips Fingertip Protectors:

sure it numbs the fingertips and you can now play.. but you get so frustrated at the inconvenience they have now become that you dont want to play.. its annoying.. bulky.. hard to get your fingers where you want them .. just build up your calluses.. just have to start off with a few more breaks than usual but in a week of an hour play,, an hour off rotation you will have a nice callus started and be playing at a rock stars pace in no time

No all that I hoped for

        By ROB MOELLER

        from Visalia CA

Comments about Gorilla Tips Fingertip Protectors:

Tried them and was not too impressed with their usefulness. They do protect the finger tips but I found them difficult to play with. They are somewhat bulky and difficult to move from string to string. Your best bet is to build up fingertip calluses over a few days of playing. While I feel they did not work best for me, they are at a cheap reasonable price and if you have fingertip issues try them and see if they work for you. I would make the tips a little harder, that may make them easier to work the strings with.
