Overview

The Godin xtSA Flame Electric Guitar's sound power begins with three distinct voices: electric guitar, acoustic guitar and synth controller. The xtSA delivers big time electric sounds via the Godin humbucker-single-humbucker pickup configuration. Thanks to a special 5-way switch setup, extra meaty humbucker tones co-exist with glassy split-coil sounds in the second and fourth positions.

Turn down the electric output and raise the volume on the RMC transducer saddles and the xtSA sounds like an authentic acoustic guitar. The acoustic voice of the xtSA is enhanced by an onboard preamp with a three-way graphic EQ. The two outputs are set up so that the electric and acoustic voices can be blended in the guitar using a single patch cord or at the amp/mixer using both outputs.

The icing on the xtSA cake comes in the form of its synth tracking. As with all Godin synth-ready instruments, a built-in 13-pin connector provides direct access to all Roland GR-Series synths as well as most other 13-pin devices.

All of this sound power would be a lot less interesting if the guitar didn't feel great. Thanks to the same 25" scale mahogany neck used on the Godin flagship LGX-SA guitar, this is a very comfortable guitar to play. The ebony fingerboard is shaped with Godin's ergocut technique and equipped with medium jumbo frets. The body is made from a silverleaf maple center with poplar wings and decorated with a figured maple veneer on top.

Includes a gig bag.

I absolutely love this guitar. I bought this guitar 2 years ago and have loved ever since. I wanted a guitar that sounded amazing as well as looked amazing. Apparently Godin must have made this guitar just for me because I am in love with it. Godin is a brand that you really don't hear much about. When I first saw it I hesitated because I was really looking for A big name like fender or Ibanez. This guitar is just as good or better than either one of those big name guitars. The number of pickups gives you a huge variety of sounds. The acoustic setting sounds just like an acoustic. The only problem that I have noticed is that the input for the patch cable sometimes comes loose, but that is an easy fix. I guarantee that if you buy this guitar, you will absolutely love it.

I bought this primarily to use as an "all around" guitar. Acoustic, synth, electric in one instrument. I find the electronics to be fairly good. However, the guitar weighs more than any other I own, including my Strat and Tele. Noise resonates through the tremolo. Plumber's tape on the arm threads did not help. It does not stay in tune. I do like the acoustic pickup. (Just don't forget to unplug the guitar or the acoustic battery will die.) But, the Godin electric pickups are a bit disappointing. I'm sure the original Xt's with Seymour Duncans must have been better. The synth tracking is very good. As you would expect with a built-in system versus an add-on. Overall it's a solid 5 out of 10. The weight is the worst thing about it by far. Pair that with the tuning problem and you'd better have a real need for it's versatility or look to another axe for what you require.

Got mine here 8years ago. Love the ebony fretboard. My only problem is the piezo pickups, from time to time it gets dull. Sometimes dead... the synth electronics also are not working anymore. But still i love this guitar iven if the only usable section is the mag pups.

Comments about Godin xtSA Flame Electric Guitar:

I'm a type of "old school guy", sticking up with a red Schecter Diamond series for 15 years.
I've recently changed my mind, falling in love with Godin ranges. TxSA is one of the best guitar I've ever touched. But I'm not satisfied with it's color. I picked the dark trans red one, obviously the color of board surface is great but the board edging looks poor as it's surrounded with plain light red (looks like orange!). This somehow devalues the outlook. For me, it would be better if the hem is in dark brown or even black.

Comments about Godin xtSA Flame Electric Guitar:

This was a shock to me. The only Godin I was familiar with was the Multiac Jazz, so I felt like I was comparing sheep with oranges. The body was different looking from the Gibsons and Fenders, but you could tell it had old world craftsmanship like maybe the PRS' of today. The body was Koa, and finished in Cognac Burst; a beautiful work of art. On the down side, it had so many toggle switches, buttons, and knobs that it made me think it was going to be very difficult to play. So far, it sounds great, but....

Comments about Godin xtSA Flame Electric Guitar:

The beauty died after 6 months. Godin couldn't get the replacement parts for one year! So the instrument was returned for a full refund. I will not touch a a Godin electric ever again. Seagull is a fine guitar however. I do a lot of Roland 13 pin stuff and the experience was a total bummer. I wound up getting a jtv 59 gold top w p90s. I still use my Roland strat made in 98. Too bad because godin's concept is perfect. Too bad the components do not measure up.

Very versatile with magnetic pickups along with a 13 pin synth pickup and piezo acoustic sound. Electric pickups are surprisingly good, I assumed I would be swapping them out immediately but I may just keep them. Neck feels great, a bit flatter than most (a Good Thing) at 16" radius. Tuners are so-so. It's a bit heavy but not excessively.

Comments about Godin xtSA Flame Electric Guitar:

Godin xtsa has professional craftsmanship , features like a super comfortable satin neck and flat fretboard. Mine didn't work on the midi and acoustic modes. The fifth string midi pickup was dead so the string had no sound . On the electric mode the pickups were decent, made a little noise when changing the pickup selector switch. I really needed that type of guitar but had to return it and got my money back. I bought a Godin electric guitar case that was very well made. I returned it too. I will never know if it was a quality control issue by Godin or by GC. However it was I miss having a midi guitar like this.
