Overview

The Godin Redline 3 Electric Guitar lets players dive-bomb their way through any performance with the addition of the Floyd Rose Tremolo bridge. The Redline 3 features the modern sound of an active EMG-81 pickup in the bridge and an active EMG-85 in the neck for scorching, high-output tones. Select pickups using the 3-way switch and dial-in different sounds using the tone knob. The humbuckers are housed in a sustain-inducing, string-through, silver leaf maple body with poplar wings. The Godin guitar's 22 fret, rock maple neck with ergocut rosewood or maple fingerboard, is extremely fast and comfortable to play. It has a sleek Redline 3 & 3 headstock, thick black binding, and the stunning high gloss flame tops on color models or a satin, semi-gloss finish on the natural flame model with maple fingerboard.

A True Metal Guitar

By Dylan A

from Hollister, CA

Comments about Godin Redline 3 Electric Guitar:

If you've been looking for an ultimate guitar for metal, look no further. I've played Ibanez RGs and Jackson Soloists, and they hardly compare to this guitar. The EMG pickups really make this guitar shine. The tone on this guitar is clear for clean, easy shredding without any muddy sounding noise inbetween. Aside from shredding, playing songs and riffs sound just as amazingly clear, powerful, and crisp. The guitar neck is made unique and extremely comfortable and it's noticable because now I'm able to play better and faster than I used to. The guitar is thin, lightweight, and basically plays as good as it looks. In Brief: Any genre of metal you can think of can be played on this guitar the way it should be and it will not disappoint.

Great guitar build, save for the pickups.

Comments about Godin Redline 3 Electric Guitar:

I realize this guitar was really manufactured to suit the tastes of the Death Metal shredder, but even Thrash guitars must have "some" tone. But let me give you the Pro's first. The selection of tonewoods, the fit of the bolt-on neck into the pocket, the cutaways & even the rolled fretboard edges are fantastically crafted. The tuning machines are very smooth w/ high turns ratio & the finish is breathtaking. Even the Licensed Floyd is passable. But what I don't like is the fact that they put EMG 81/85's on it when those PUPS are made for mahogany bodys with neck-thru construction & rosewood fingerboards. Hard Rock maple & poplar have considerable treble & presence, and to me that made playing through any amp very pointed & teeth grindingly harsh. Just not a good match for me. So I ripped out the EMG's & threw in a Duncan Trembucker TB-11 & Pearly Gates to level out the frequency response. Now the thing sings like Michael Wilton's (Queensryche) guitars with plenty of low end beef, tasty mids & clarity and appreciable presence. If it werent for the pickup choice out of the box, I would definitely give this guitar five stars. Tastes vary though & some may like the stock PUPS. Just not me.

Awesome Guitar

By Anthony

from cedarburg, WI

Comments about Godin Redline 3 Electric Guitar:

I recently picked up a Godin Redline 3 Trans Green with a maple fretboard. For just under $700 with a 15% discount this guitar is unbeatable! This guitar is built solid with active EMG's and a Floyd. The neck is smooth and fast and is not paper thin like Ibanez guitars; great for both rhythm and lead. The Green finish with the maple neck looks and feels awesome. The only thing I would change on this guitar is the tremolo arm. I prefer a loose swinging arm. I also wish Godin made this guitar with 24 frets. If you want a $2000 guitar for $700 get the Redline 3 maple. If you are particular about the bridge and tuning hardware quality it is worth the purchase and upgrading. The guitar also comes with a nice travel gig-bag.
