Overview

The 'Slim' in this Godin ACS-SA nylon string guitar's moniker refers to the 1.715" neck width at the nut-a mere 16th of an inch wider than Godin's standard electric guitar nut width. If you do most of your playing on a guitar with a fairly narrow neck (such as most solidbody electric guitars) this is the ACS-SA guitar for you. The slim neck of the Godin ACS-SA Slim guitar along with the Ergocut shaping technique and 16" fingerboard radius provide for a very easy transition for steel string guitar players looking to integrate nylon string guitar sounds into their music. Aside from the new neck, the ACS-SA Slim shares all of the same features that have made the Godin ACS-SA nylon string guitar an industry standard. The chambered, silverleaf maple body with cedar top results in a guitar that is virtually free of feedback, making it easy to use even in loud stage situations. Synth access comes courtesy of the 13-pin connector for direct control of Roland GR Series and Axon AX100 guitar synths.

Includes gig bag.

I've been playing guitar for over 20 years and of all the guitars I've owned this is by far my favorite. I love the way it sounds, each string comes through the amp clearly and well defined and with the eq you can really change the tone. The neck is easy to play and lends itself to being creative and moving around the neck in ways that I hadn't before. It doesn't project though unless you have it going through an amp. I highly recommend this guitar.

I bought it and tried it for a week. At first I was very overwhelmed by its sound and electronics. Further analysis and considerations revealed some intonation problems when playing octaves and chord melody around the 10th fret. I have not been able to find one acoustic nylon string type guitar that does not have this issue. I suppose the bridge not having an adjustable hardware for each string, like a regular electric guitar does, makes almost unrealistic my expectations for perfection. I am a professional Jazz and classical guitar player. For me intonation, tone and action are elements that cannot be missed on a guitar.

Personal use. Jazz, mostly. Small hands, so narrow neck is a definite plus.

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Slim Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I play a lot of musical theater pit gigs and was looking for a guitar just like this. Previously, I'd been using a classical guitar that I could plug in but had lots of feedback issues. No feedback with this guitar and it really sounds great through my amp (JC-120). The only thing to get used to is the strings being closer together because of the slim neck; it's really like an electric guitar in that sense, but it takes a little getting used to with nylon strings. But that's a very minor (and temporary) issue. This is my first major guitar purchase made online (I usually like to try before I buy) but I have absolutely no complaints.

      Excellent Electric Nylon

      By joseph chess

      from La Mesa California

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Slim Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my second Godin. I bought the second one for my son. These guitars play more like An electric guitar. Or maybe a high-end ovation guitar. If you're after a more traditional feeling guitar this probably is not the guitar for you. Go does make it wider neck of those finger pickers don't want a more traditional size. Anyway the electronics on it are great they sound so good. It also does not put out a whole lot of sound without being plugged in. This is a gig guitar. Anyway I enjoy mine very much. It sounds very good for home studio plug-in and go. Anyway I'm not the greatest guitarist in the world but I can sure make some nice sounds on my recordings with this guitar. Live performances are awesome also.

      What an incredible guitar

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Slim Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

When I first played a Multiac I just fell in love with it and shortly after bought one. The neck just felt so perfect in my hand. The tone is just beautiful and I find it's acoustic volume sufficient for quietly writing at home. I play through a Roland JC which is very bright and I've found this guitar to have a great EQ to balance that. It's size and weight are both very comfortable for playing and fantastic for portability. If I was to buy another I would avoid the black finish as it shows a lot if dust.

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Slim Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I like playing this guitar because it is simply the best built guitar I've played in a while. I think the quality is excellent.

I use high-tension nylon strings because regular just seem to sound more muted/muffled.

13-Pin works well with known guitar synthesizers.

      Great access to electronics/battery.

      Excellant customer service

      By TOMMY EVANS

      from Tom in Richmond, Virginia

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Slim Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

While the instrument is everything Godin describes my hat is off to the employees of Guitar Center. My issue with this guitar was its place of origin. Godin is a Canadian company, however they also have an assembly plant in New Hampshire USA and Germany along with three in Canada. Now, to some of you this may sound picky. I am very concerned with quality and wasn't comfortable with the components made in one factory then shipped and assembled in another country. If you examine these instruments closely you will see on the back of the guitar head a circular stamp reading either "hand-crafted in Canada" or "assembled in USA from parts hand-crafted in Canada". I was most comfortable with the guitar completely crafted, assembled, finished, tested, and passing quality assurance standards in their home factory. Customer service here at Guitar Center informed me those in the warehouse would be willing to open the boxes and find the guitar I was looking for and also check for blemishes when the instrument was found. I ordered this Godin Multiac in black pearl. It was received in absolutely perfect condition. Guitar Centers' employees met my every request! This is a beautiful, awesome instrument. I also combined it with Fishmans' Loudbox Artist. Thanks guys!

      Sweet sound

      By William Bright

      from Waverly, Iowa

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Slim Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought the black pearl model and it looks as good as it plays. Except for a minor string height adjustment it was good to go, out of the box. I spent about 8 hours playing the first day it arrived. I set up my amp and was amazed at the sound on each individual string. I was also impressed with the service at Guitar Center. By accident, I ordered the wrong model guitar, and I didn't catch the error until it had already shipped. I called Guitar Center and they recalled the shipped guitar and sent me the "slim" model that I wanted. If you are considering adding a nylon string sound to your set, the Godin is a good choice, in my opinion, and Guitar Center is the go to place......

      Bullseye

      By Jazzlvr5

      from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Godin ACS-SA Slim Nylon String Cedar Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got my Godin ACS Slim (Pearl Black) a few weeks ago from Musicians' Friend and couldn't be happier. It has all of the features I wanted (nylon strings, good/low action, comfortable to play, etc). I had to get my Roland GR55 (Black) elsewhere. The combination allows me to be so much more than just a guitarist. I was most interested in playing pianos, strings, pads and woodwinds which are handled nicely and realistically. The tracking on the Godin is very good on these types of sounds. Recording is clean/latency free with a few tweaks to the string sensitivity. I'm hooked on Godin...I have a Fender Strat, Taylor T5, Takamine, a 335, ESP in my collection and this is already my favorite. The versatility of sounds, looping, etc will make this a mainstay of my live set up. I'm already shopping for a Godin xtSA Koa...do your self a favor and get at least one Godin with synth access in your life....you'lll be really glad you did.
