Ok folks, let me give you my background I am 40, been playing since I was 15. I am a fanatic about quality in everything I buy. My wife says I research something for months before buying and this guitar was no exception. I can easily afford the big name brands, but I don't believe in paying for a name. After much research on this guitar, I made the call and ordered one. It came in the mail and I immediately went over it with a fine tooth comb, that was after I pick my jaw up from the floor, it is beautiful! Keep in mind for this price the tuners are not top notch but will work just fine, I may change them out later. The neck is the 16 inch radius, which I have never owned before, but it is so nice to run scales on. Unplugged, it sings. Bright, but not too much, but extremely musical. The back of the neck is satin and very nice to the touch. I have heard that the pickups which are passive on this model could use some improvement, but I always swap out stock pups for Seymour Duncans, which I will probably do soon. I own an American Strat and the frets on this guitar are as smooth as my Strat's which I am very happy about. I also own a import Epiphone Les Paul, which is nice for the money, but the Godin is much nicer construction and overall quality. So listen up Moms and Dads, this guitar would be an excellent first guitar that your new guitarist will never out grow. And listen up all you seasoned players, this guitar will please you as well. It would make an excellent primary stage guitar or a back up for the headstock snobs who have to have a major brand name on the headstock. Not saying this baby cannot hang with them, because I am sure it can. Overall, I highly recommend this guitar to anyone even remotely thinking of trying on of these out. Buy it, you will thank me.
Well lets start off with the beautiful color of the maple, great craftsmanship. but i like how the neck isnt all that gloss and polyurathane, they actually sanded it down and its nice and smoothe. it makes it easier for those shredding solos or just those slides. it was alot lighter than i thought it would be i have a fender strat also but i like the weight of this one and its good for lower tunings. The pickups now are really good without pedals, and it sounds great, especially in drop c tuning. but the thing i dont like all that well, is how they sound on clean, they sound a little muddy for my liking. The Bridge is really what i like, it feels nice and smoothe and kindof like rounded to fit the shape of your palm, and its great for those chugging riffs like punk and garage bands, it also helps with the sustain. But a great guitar, the body and constuction well done, all of this for a good price. Great job Godin!!!!
