I have been using these strings ever since I got my Gibson SG about 2 years ago, and I have to say, they are the best I've played so far. I've used plenty of other strings, Ernie ball, DiMarzio, Dunlop, and even Fender strings that usually don't last over a week. These strings however are amazing, great bending, and they feel great for weeks after most other strings get worn out or break. So far I've had these on my SG for weeks, where as on my strat i put on Fender bullets. The Fender bullets high e have broken 5 times, and the strings are worn out, but on my Gibson, the strings seem hardly a week old. I highly adise you to buy these strings for any guitar that you have, you won't be sorry.

Worst Strings I've ever used

I thought I'd try Gibson strings after years of using GHS Boomers on my Gibson Les Paul. I couldn't have been more disappointed. Gibson makes great guitars, but these strings are the worst. I thought my tuners were slipping it was so bad. I'd have to tune these up ever few minutes which is pathetic. Went back to GHS Boomers and problem solved. No tuning issues and just enjoy playing. Go figure.

Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

I originally bought a pack of these a year ago to put on my squier tele. I wanted to train my fingers to handle Gibson strings for when I bought a les paul a few months later. they made my squier sound much better since they were 10s as opposed to the standard 9s which felt too jangly. it was tough at first but I eventually developed the calluses necessary to play them without any pain. I have since bought my les paul and use them all the time. they seem to last a long time with little to no rust ever developing. I even put a set of 9s on my new fender telecaster. the one con I have is I do a lot of string bending and because the nickel is softer than the steel frets it rubs away the nickel and leaves the just the core of the string. oddly I haven't had any break despite the outside of the string rubbing away. it does make the string feel bumpy though. this flaw seems to happen more often and a lot sooner on my telecaster style guitars than my les paul. perhaps it's due to the scale length?

      Don't Overlook These Strings

      By David Kennedy

      from Hattiesburg, MS

Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

There are so many guitar strings available today that Gibson's are not stocked in many stores. They cost a little more and it is certainly not their major product line - therefore I feel that people don't use them as much as they should. If you play a Gibson Les Paul then you obviously are into "vintage" sound (if not, you're playing the wrong guitar!). And if you are into vintage sound, then you simply MUST play PURE nickel strings (not nickel wrapped but ALL nickel) because that IS the vintage tone. The Gibson Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel strings are the best ones made today for your Les Paul. That's what I play. I also play Fender Pure Nickel's on my vintage Strats and Teles. These strings were literally made for these guitars - so why would you play anything else??? Do yourself a favor and try some out - you'll be glad you did!!

      I like them.

      By Mario Arredondo

Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

These strings are not as stretchy as comparable Ernie Ball 10's as I can stretch those with little effort. These Gibson's are way harder to bend and are rough on the fingers until you get used to them. Having said that, the sound on the Gibson's is way better sounding. Thicker fuller sound and they do last for quite some time and still sound good. Don't get me wrong, I love the Ernie Balls so I use them on my strat where I like twang but on my Gibson Les Paul I use these. I'll work through the difficulties for the sound I get. I just wish they would do something about the price. I went to Guitar Center and tried a Epiphone Les Paul and broke the high E right away, I haven't broken a string in a while on my guitars.

      Decent Strings

      By Justin Rushing

      from Dallas, Tx

Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

I just got these strings for my Gibson SG today and they are slightly better than average strings. They are not rough at all and these are incredibly easy to bend, not only that but they stretch really fast so when you first put them on you don't have to worry about having to tune your guitar a thousand times before they stay in tune. Over all they are a decent set of strings.

Comments about Gibson VR10 Vintage Reissue Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings - Light:

I have been looking for "That Sound" out of a set of electric guitar strings for a long time. I found it in these VR10 Vintage Reissue strings. As the Gibson description states; Tone - Warm. My description; Make your Les Paul SOUND like a Les Paul again... Yep, they costs a few bucks more. They're worth it.
