This famous flame maple-backed dreadnought introduced in the early ‘60s is intertwined with one of the most revolutionary decades in popular music history. Designed to compliment a singer's voice, the Dove quickly became one of Gibson’s most popular models. This updated take on Gibson's heirloom styling has a balanced, full sound that stands out anywhere, anytime and clean, aesthetic design appointments. The maple back and sides and long scale produce crisp, clear tone and projection while the square shoulder body adds balance and warmth. In the lower registers, the Dove sounds majestic – projecting every nuance from your fingers. Plenty of overtones are present even when played further up the neck. Play effortlessly on the three-piece maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with its timeless hand-inlaid mother-of-pearl parallelogram.
Also setting it apart from the crowd is a rare Trans Ebony finish. This hand-rubbed stain provides a perfect compliment to the beautiful flame maple and is transparent enough to showcase the beautiful figure on the back and sides. The handcrafted pickguard, with a single mother-of-pearl dove among painted flowers, makes this guitar instantly recognizable.
This limited edition model has also been upgraded with an L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup and gold Grover tuners.
