Overview

During the height of Gibson's original "Golden Era," the company's only bass guitar at the time”the EB0”underwent the same radical transformation as the Les Pauls, which were being redesigned as the now classic SG. It was a bold move and it paid off, bringing Gibson basses to the forefront. Today's SG Standard Bass recreates the classic, dual-pickup version, staying true to the design and specs of the original, including the popular 30" scale length.

The 2014 SG Standard bass features a solid mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with the extra-special 120th anniversary banner on the 12th fret, max grip speed knobs, extra large strap button, graph tech nut, 30" scale, T-Bird Plus and vintage-style T-Bird mini pickups, grover shamrock-style tuners, gloss lacquer and 3-point adjustable bridge.

Features
  • Angled headstock
  • Adjustable truss rod

Comments about Gibson SG Standard 2014 Electric Bass Guitar:

This smaller 30" scale neck is great for us smaller musicians. Compare to the 34" Fender Ps, this bass is great for moving around the neck while conserving arm motion.

    nice!

Comments about Gibson SG Standard 2014 Electric Bass Guitar:

It is lightweight and small in size yet produces big sound. It would be perfect for smaller people. Although I am not, I still enjoy playing with it.It can never replace the Fender P sound, it is unique to its own signature sound of Gibson. It has a good tonal range. The only downside is the price in which I think is too high.If you can fork over that much money, it is a nice bass to have in your collection.
