The basic, no-nonsense design, SG looks, and P-90 sound combine to produce an axe of subdued good looks and sonic firepower. Equipped with a genuine mahogany body, rounded SG mahogany Slim Taper neck, and a single P-90 "Dog Ear" pickup that produces plenty of gutsy, gritty tones enhanced by the warmth and bite of the mahogany body. The new baked maple fingerboard has the tactile feel and response of ebony, but with a very traditional warm, brown finish. It's extremely stable, fast and smooth.
What Is Baked Maple?
Aging maple through a œbaking process called torrefaction. The wood is kept at 200-300º F for a period of time until the wood knows it' no longer a tree; Moisture is restored under pressure. This makes the wood very hard, sonically œlive and extremely stable. The snappy sound of ebony, with the look of medium-brown pau ferro. Many boutique manufacturers are now using this because it improves the wood with no chemical treatment, it' environmentally friendly and is great for making better sounding and playing guitars!

Comments about Gibson SG Junior 60's Electric Guitar:
I went to guitar center to look for an overdrive pedal, but instead of actually looking for the pedal i wound up playing this for twenty minutes. The pick is sweet. You can go from the grittiness of AC/DC to the sweetness of Guess Who's American woman solo just by rolling back the knob. I will save up my money for this thing definitly. I played the black because it was low, but the cherry looked awesom looking over the store.
