I was looking to replace my stock tuners on my LP 100 and was looking at the Sperzels and other high dollar tuners when the guy at GC pointed these out to me. I was really skeptical as they are under 40 bucks but they were a breeze to install and they will hold a tune all night. The night I installed these along with a new set of 9 guage slinky's my band had an out door show and I only had to once (before we started). I was amazed because it was about 90 degrees outside and humid as hell and the tuning didn't budge. Well worth the money!

I go into guitar center and pick these up for 75 bucks, come back home and install them where i had to widen the holes to insert the pegs, the rest was easy. These didn't come with any instruction but you really don't need any, but these are as bad as the factory set tuning pegs that my guitar came with. I don't know why other reviews say these stay in tune, these cant even handle a little simple string bend without the string slipping. It goes out of tune within 7 minutes without bending strings, it doesn't go horribly out of tune but gets gradually worse.

Comments about Gibson Modern Nickel Machine Heads with Metal Buttons:

these tuners are very nice, i installed these on my epiphone dot dtudio along with a dirty fingers pickup. i dont think people realize is that GROVER makes these tuners. the difference is, they are shaped jus like the originals. thats why they put the GIBSON brand name on them.

Comments about Gibson Modern Nickel Machine Heads with Metal Buttons:

Very well made tuners. Holds tune with no problem whatsoever. Installed it on my Epi Dot along with Tone pros neck and bridge. Installation was a breeze with no modification. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to upgrade their tuners.

Good bang for the buck

By dr gonzo

Comments about Gibson Modern Nickel Machine Heads with Metal Buttons:

One of the cheapest and best upgrades you can do for your guitar. I installed them on my Ibanez artcore as73 and other than having to drill a pilot hole slightly to the left of the original they installed quickly and with ease. It's easier and quicker to tune and it stays there.

Grovers R Great

By Shepherd

Comments about Gibson Modern Nickel Machine Heads with Metal Buttons:

You can't go wrong with these machine heads. Every Les Paul should have these installed. They sure save a lot of head aches with tuning and they look amazing too.

Installing and admiring

Comments about Gibson Modern Nickel Machine Heads with Metal Buttons:

This was the last to the upgrades to a Gibsion SG. The quality and ease of installation got me up and playting in no time. Thanks to the staff at Fairfax and the quick delivery. Replace those 480 series pick ups with Burstbucker Pros and also add the bibsby B5 trim. good deal for under 1K.

I bought these for a 2013 Gibson SG 50's Tribute with came with perfectly fine kidney button Grovers, but I thought these would look cooler. I was right!

Bought a 2015 Gibson SG which would have been my favorite guitar but it came with G Force tuning. These nickel machine heads look great, make changing strings a snap and I think they actually improve the sound of the guitar. Now this is my favorite guitar!

Exact replacement for my SG tuners

          By Dave Kramer

          from Chicago, IL

Comments about Gibson Modern Nickel Machine Heads with Metal Buttons:

I recently went to my local GC and bought pickups, pots, knobs, and an output jack for my 1981 SG Firebrand. While I was taking the strings off, I realized I should have bought tuners, too. These are the exact same tuners I had on the guitar, so I didn't have to do any drilling. They were a snap to install and since they're not 29 years old (have I really been playing guitar that long?) they look FANTASTIC. Best of all, like one of the other reviewers said, they hold their tune as well as more expensive machine heads. If you have a Gibson with Grovers (that's what these are) and you need to replace them, forgo the pricey models and keep your guitar "stock" with these.

I am an early stage beginner. Never modified my guitar before. The reason i went with these is they are Gibson official product and they fit my Les Paul perfectly without drilling any holes. They look great and perform better than the tuners my LP came with. Couldn't be happier

Comments about Gibson Modern Nickel Machine Heads with Metal Buttons:

I'm really surprised that these aren't more readily available.

I have an Epiphone that I call my Gibson killer. I've put Tim Shaw pickups in it w/ nickel covers. And I wanted to change out the pearlized tuners for a nickel tuners in the original key shape, to complete the look.

It's surprisingly hard to find. I can find the groover tuner look all day long. But the key shape. Takes a while to find. GC doesn't always carry them. And they're virtually non existent from Gibson or Epiphone. Even though they used to come on the old Customs. But when I did find them they were 30% off. Go figure.

I haven't installed them yet. But I know I will have to bore out the holes to make them fit.
