The often-copied body of the Gibson Explorer with Tremolo Electric Guitar is solid mahogany for a fat and punchy sound, while the 496R Hot Ceramic and 500T Super Ceramic humbuckers sizzle and snarl with aggressive authority. The addition of a full-on Floyd Rose tremolo takes this axe from legendary to other-wordly. Features include a 22-fret obeche fingerboard with dot inlays and Grover machine heads. Made in the USA. Includes Gibson hardshell case.

Comments about Gibson Limited Run Explorer with Tremolo Electric Guitar:
This is a striking all-white Explorer with an Original Floyd Rose Trem. It plays great and, of course, tuning stability is excellent. This guitar is capable of some really nice hard rock/metal tones due in no small part to the really hot 500T pickup in the bridge. It does not excel at cleaner tones - it tends to be a little muddy in my opinion. I previously owned an Explorer with a maple top (similar to a Les Paul construction) and that guitar had a brighter tone which was noticeable when playing cleaner tones. My only gripe is the way this guitar arrived from Gibson: the guitar was tuned to Eb. When I tuned the guitar to standard pitch, the trem had to be readjusted - and there was barely enough adjustment left in it to get it level again. I almost had to go with heavier springs. Overall, I'm very happy with this guitar.
