The BFG Limited Edition consists of the first 52 guitars produced in each color with a handwritten serial number showing the guitar's place in the run of 52.

A decidedly nontraditional Les Paul for rockers who want a Les Paul with attitude and don't care about good looks. It has the sound and playability you'd expect from a Les Paul, while its raw look stands Les Paul styling on its head: unsanded top, no binding, no pickup rings, no truss rod cover, no toggle switch rings, no fretboard position indicators (dots on the side only), with wooden knobs that have no numbers.

This rough and tough guitar has sonics to match: steamy hot tones from the novel pickup combination of a single coil P-90 in the neck and a BurstBucker 3 in the bridge - like having a Les Paul Special and a Standard in one guitar.

Mini toggle pickup selection switch located near two volume and one master tone controls. Kill switch located where rhythm/lead switch used to be.

"Distressed" stop bar, Tune-O-Matic bridge, and Grovers and "shopworn" case complete the raw look of this very different looking Les Paul.

Not for the Les Paul Purists...

Comments about Gibson Limited Edition Les Paul BFG Electric Guitar:

I just got my Silverburst BFG, and this thing is not only beautiful (the pictures don't do it justice), it is the best sounding LP I have ever played. On clean channel, it is bright and clear, but who would buy this for playing on clean channel??? Besides, nothing beats my good ol' Telecaster with SCN's for that. This is a rock-and-roll steamroller that begs for distortion and crunch - and Gibson could not have paired two better pickups for the job. The P-90 is still the coolest pickup they have ever made, and it is even better when paired with the Burstbucker 3. Whoever came up with that odd pairing is certified genius... The nitrocellulose finish is thin and doesn't get in the way of the tone (unlike the other LP's with their incredibly thick coats of lacquer) and the neck is smooth and unfinished like it should be (no steel wool required). The sustain is better than any of the other LP's I have played, and that is saying something considering the LP is best known for holding a note past the lifespan of your typical guitar player. This guitar is not for the LP purists who like the artistic side of the brand and value it more than the tone. They need to stick with the Supreme, the Standard, the Traditional, etc. and leave this baby to those of us who want to play and don't mind getting our guitars a little dirty in the process.
