The J-45 is one of Gibson’s best-selling acoustics of all time. Nicknamed “The Workhorse” and first introduced in 1942, this popular acoustic is now the icon of its round-shoulder, dreadnought line. The J-45 is world renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass and excellent projection. This October limited edition J-45 Mahogany Special is no different. Gibson gave this very special and rare limited edition the full mahogany treatment, creating a very unique and exclusive instrument built exclusively for Musician’s Friend.
Handcrafted in the Bozeman, Montana facility this J-45 Mahogany Special features a solid mahogany top and mahogany back and sides. This rarely used tonewood combination offers a beautiful vintage style look and very unique warm and round sound. The vintage vibe doesn’t stop there. The J-45 Mahogany features classic Gibson script and banner headstock detail framed by relic strap open-back tuners outfitted with white button knobs. The rosewood fingerboard and matching rosewood bridge are hand inlaid with mother-of-pearl dots.
Finished with a special Vintage Sunburst color to allow the grain of the mahogany top to be exposed and detailed with a traditional tortoise tear drop shaped pickguard.
This limited edition features the added versatility of a built-in L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup with soundhole-mounted volume and tone control.

Comments about Gibson Limited Edition J-45 Mahogany Top Slope Shoulder Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I think for the money it should arrive playable and not have to pay for a set up. I have googled this and a lot of people are of the same opinion. Also the pick ups volume isn't equal on all of the strings. But I will get it fixed and set up to play gigs with. The rosewood fret board has a shiny strip through the length of the neck, but since I bought it on sale for Black Friday I can live with it because it does sound good.
