Impressive, fun guitar but picks up a lot of noise
Been experimenting with more rock n roll tones and thought I should add a Les Paul to my small collection. Love the smokehouse finish on this studio model. And it does have really amazing tones with overdrive or distortion engaged on my amps. Love the sustain. One thing almost made me return it, though, and I didn't expect this with humbucker pickups. Noise. Much noisier than the N3 pickups on my Strat. I mean 3 or 4 times as much noise. Bought a Boss NS-2 noise suppressor pedal and this helped a lot, but in my music room I can't push too much gain. Spent hours adjusting my amps, the NS-2, turning lights on and off, trying different electrical plugs and guitar cables. Finally, have satisfactory, if a bit limited, tone options now. I'm glad about this, as I like the guitar and it's very fun to play when the hum, buzz and crackle are not too bad. My guitar friends are very impressed with it and the find the finish stylish intriguing, never having seen the like of it before.

Great, but flawed budget Gibson LP
This year I decided to treat myself to a Gibson Les Paul. I first thought I was going to go with a Tribute model, but they seemed plain and didn't have the coil tapping function. I couldn't justify selling a kidney for a brand new Standard - which remains my dream guitar. I did my homework and watched all the Youtube reviews, trekked to a few nearby stores and played a 2017 and a few used examples. I settled on ordering a 2018 Vintage Sunburst and a few days later it was in my hands. This is where I became disillusioned. At first glance, the guitar was perfect - gloss finish, no sharp frets, no glaring defects, it even smelled of vanilla. I was smitten! But then I plugged it in and played ... The frets were unpolished and every time I tried to bend a string, it was like I was rubbing up against sandpaper. The strings buzzed on any fret near and after the 12th. The intonation was terrible! B and G strings.. they never stayed in tune. It didn't matter that I lubricated the nut with graphite, it didn't matter that I lightly filed them. No matter what I did, they just wouldn't stay in tune, especially after bending notes. I polished the frets, adjusted the action and intonation and tried to live with my flawed guitar. The low e-string wouldn't intonate correctly. I played a little, then re-tuned, rinse and repeat. I ignored the low E, for as long as I could, but just... well frustration got the best of me. I've bought guitars at half the price that didn't need as much work. Completely demoralized, I traded it in (and spent a little more) on a Fender and didn't have to do a thing to it. Maybe I just got a bad example, so I'm going to be generous and give it 3 stars. I've been told that you have to search hi and low for a good Les Paul. If you want one, play it first and make sure the quality control is great from the factory, otherwise, I'd go spend similar money on a guitar with less issues

I know only a little when it comes to playing, but I've done a lot of research on the quality I should expect when buying a guitar like this. Was not disappointed. Guitar arrived in great shape no marking ect. A few fingerprints but nothing bad. Guitar sounds beautiful just like it does on the promotional video online.

Very well build guitar with great sound. I really like how it sound with my tube amp on distortion. 57 pickups really cool (I compare it with 490's) Clean tone great as well. I like how it build: grover tuners (chrome finish), perfectly stained body.

The finish is amazing, specially when the light hits it. Love that the neck has binding. It has 2 push/pulls, and comes with a hard case. I'm too novice to be able to review the tone and sound, but as a novice, I have no regrets.
My experience with this Les Paul

I buy most of my guitars from GC this one I got a deal on from another shop, I'm reading the other reviews and some seem to bash quality control, complain about the sound and the way it plays, I try to buy an LP once a year, and none of them play amazing out of the box, I have other brands including PRS and it didn't play great out of the box, there is a reason guitar shops offer "setups" on guitars, every guitar i've ever owned got a setup shortly after coming out of the box, for no other reason than it needed it to perform to its full potential. Your expecting a top end guitar to not need fine tuning, guitars, cars, etc, the good stuff needs to be setup, fine tuned, call it what you want, but if your gonna spend almost 2 grand on a guitar, don't be cheap spend the other 100 bucks to get a pro to set it up to play and sound like the champ it is.
Sounds really good

A fantastic Les Paul!

This guitar is amazing. It's weigh-relieved body is light but still feels solid like a Les Paul should. It's neck is thin enough to be fast but meaty enough to feel great when you're playing chords. The Grover tuners are high quality. The 57 classic & 57 classic + pickups have a killer growl when playing dirty but clean up well too. Coil split is a plus. The binding over the fret ends feels terrific! The aluminum bridge & tailpiece are top notch. The case if as it should be-it's a Gibson USA Les Paul hard case that wraps the guitar in plush support. Fit & finish is on this guitar is fantastic. Flawless.

Referring to the blemish on the guitar, what is it. Also, what color is the guitar and if purchased can I receive the 15 per cent off coupon.
The Blemished model is no longer available. Also, Open Box gear doesn't qualify for promotions. Thank you
