Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus

By RARic01

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus Electric Guitar:

The fit and finish on this Les Paul Standard Premium Plus is flawless, with accurate intonation, well-crowned medium jumbo frets, and low, fast, action. The 50?s rounded neck is a perfect compromise between the thinner 60?s slim taper and the ?baseball bat? vintage re-issue 59? necks. A thin nitro-cellulose lacquer finish over AAA flame maple top allows for free wood vibration and an open, resonant sound. The guitar?s weight is substantial, but evenly distributed, resulting in phenomenal sustain. The neck is stable and resists bowing in response to variations in string tension and humidity. The Green Key tuners? 14:1 ratio allows for accurate pitch adjustment and speedy re-stringing/tuning. Two humbucking, wax-potted, Alnico V magnet Burstbucker Pro pickups with independent volume/tone controls, produce a dynamic, responsive, and well-rounded sound. Gibson?s distinct midrange ?honk? is present, but the Burstbuckers? mismatched bobbin windings also produce single-coil quality sparkle and bite, with a rich bass response that is not muddy or overpowering. This is a beautiful, great playing, wonderful sounding guitar will take you from clean, to Blues, to crunch, to flat out distortion.

often imitated,never duplicated!

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus Electric Guitar:

I have owned my desertburst model for four years now,and still ues it as my main gigging guitar!. I have three other name brand guitars of good quality that seem to never make it out of the rack each night. For me the versatility and tones are Just unmatched by anything else I own. There were a couple of issues when I first got the guitar though,One was that there was some slight rough bubbling on the finish right at the neck joint.. And the saddle had some wicked burrs that was causing regular string breakage at some bad moments! If you buy this guitar,be sure and order a set of graphtech saddle savers for it!You'll be happy you did.If this guitar were stolen,I'd buy another one immediately!

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus Electric Guitar:

This Guitar feels like the guitar you have always dreamed of owning. I purchased the TransAmber Color, which is just amazing to look at. The action, intonation, setup was perfect from the factory. Perfectly reproduces that Classic Les Paul sound. Everything about this guitar is awesome. Don't hesitate, get rid of your Les Paul wantabees, and get this guitar!

YEAH! Glad I spent the $$$

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus Electric Guitar:

Well, I traded in my Strat HSS on day 30 after giving it a fair shot. It just didn't feel as rock and roll as the Gibson does. It had a nice slender neck but it just didn't crunch enough even with the 10-way switching. This guitar felt good in the store, although I preferred the 60s neck in the store, but they only had it on the classic model. I fell in love with this guitar's beautiful finish and the feel of its body. The 50s neck is a bit ronder than I am used to so I was kind of worried about that. But a couple of hours at home and it suddenly felt like love. It really is no impedence to moving up and down the neck. The Burstbuckers are POWERFUL. I was kind of in awe when I plugged into my Crate 120 and turned up the gain. WOW! There was the crunch and bite I'd been missing with my strat. And the sustain - it is true what they say about the sustain. This sucker just goes on and on until you tell it to stop. And the clear notes are beautiful too. The guy at the SF store was able to work a deal on the price too, so I walked out of there at $2600, which is a great deal, I think. This guitar looks like a piece of art and it is going to be the guitar I become really good on. You will like it so much your heart will hurt a little.
