It?s a wonderful guitar for a low price, made with best quality wood and hardware, sounds great! Clear harmonics, even when using a hard overdrive. Hot treble and fat neck pick up sound like any other Les Paul. Fast 60?s neck with low action. It?s realy a Gibson.
When I first recieved this guitar, I couldn`t believe it. The humbuckers are amazing. I get way better sound with it than any other guitar I have ever played! It is truly a rockin` rebel!
This axe is an incredible buy for your money! It is a plain and simple axe with huge spank! Nice and sweet singing highs and punchy defined lows, come from the mahogany neck and hum-b's! Very nice workmanship goes into this marvelous axe! A great investment! The Hound Dog highly recommends!
This guitar is a wonderful instrument. The wood and pickups are the same ones Gibson outfits more expensive models, like the Custom, with. The reason I only put 4.5 for features is that you cannot reach the full 2 octaves with this guitar, but this is a very minor complaint. I upgraded the pickups to EMG's (85 and 81), and this has made the guitar even more amazing. This is a great deal, not to be passed up!
I've owned many Les Pauls over the years, but the LP Special SL has to be one of my favorites(I' own two). Don't let the low price and simple looks fool you, this guitar is an absolute tone monster. This Guitar has a fat tone that excells in Jazz, Blues, Rock or whatever musical style is thrown at it. The natural finish is simply stunning, and the 60's taper neck make fast runs a breeze. Tuning is stable, Just be sure to lubricate your nut grooves with graphite (pencil led works great). I wish they would have made this model way back when, I would have saved a fortune! Don't delay Buy one today!
Dreams coming true a beatiful les paul for a low price. Try it yourself at guitar center but with a marshall 250dfx to get the best sound. The les pauls humbuckers sound so creamy and the fret board is smooth, so when you jam it wont feel rough. The black paint finish is really glossy compare to other guitars in the store. The head as always is true Gibson form. Anyone looking for creamy smooth soundin les paul try this and buy it.
I've owned this guitar since I bought it new in 2001. It's basically a stripped down LP with no maple top or binding of any kind but it plays and feels great. It's a little plain looking but the neck is smooth & it has loads of sustain. The gloss finish looks nice and tuning is rarely an issue. Overall, it's a great players guitar & a real bargain.
