Baked Maple:
Aging maple through a œbaking process called torrefaction. The wood is kept at 200-300º F for a period of time until the wood knows it' no longer a tree; Moisture is restored under pressure. This makes the wood very hard, sonically œlive and extremely stable. The snappy sound of ebony, with the look of medium-brown pau ferro. Many boutique manufacturers are now using this because it improves the wood with no chemical treatment, it' environmentally friendly and is great for making better sounding and playing guitars!

Good Mid price ranged Les Paul

By Craig Kulcsar

from Mansfield Texas

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus '60s Neck Profile Electric Guitar:

I did a ton of research before I caved in and bought mine. I was originally looking at a studio deluxe at my local guitar center. The deluxe was nice but I wanted to have the classic look with the binding. So after a week or two I went back to guitar center and saw they had a classic plus all the way at the top. I didn't even have to test the thing out it just felt right in my hand when I was holding it. I ended up going with the Heritage Cherry Sunburst despite it looking too red online and on other websites. Apparently I lucked out and got a really good looking burst with a darker in it so had an aged looked to it. I would recommend this guitar for the price, or the traditional standard pro I believe its called. Both are the same price but the classic is bare bones and doesn't have things like split coils etc. The baked maple finger board is also nice and smooth. Me personally I like it more than Rosewood thats just my preference. As far as a tonal difference between the Rosewood and Maple board, it isn't really noticeable. Overall a very good Les Paul for the money.

Killer Axe!

By jamie petrucelli

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus '60s Neck Profile Electric Guitar:

First off, I have to say I have not bought a Gibson product since the early 90?s, at which time there were still several small mom and pop dealers around. Since those days are long gone and I wanted another Gibson, I went to my local GC and purchased a LP Studio Deluxe. What a nice guitar! Two weeks later, I?m back at GC trading up for a LP Classic Plus. They did not have the color I wanted, so they ordered it and 3 days later I?m plugging in and trying it out. What a fantastic guitar! The other LP?s I have a high end models that only come out once in a while and I had forgotten what a pleasure it is to play a quality American made guitar! The neck has a great feel, the pickups are hot but still controllable, the top is out of this world and the guitar has killer tone and sustain. I gave it 4 stars as there were some minor fine buff marks on the finish that I was able to get out with a little 3M Finesse-it II and a clean cloth. All in all I am very happy with this purchase and more than pleased with the service and know how of my local GC!

The 20 Year Wait For a Les Paul was Well Worth it !!!

By MICHAEL D'AMICO

from new york

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus '60s Neck Profile Electric Guitar:

Phenomenal, when i finally received my guitar i went over it with a fine tooth comb because i would never normally buy something like this without taking it out at the store and looking it over and playing it there, but they had none in stock at the time. So i ordered it, and all i can say is, i've owned many guitars over the years, and i have never bonded with them like i have with this one, it's as if it was made especially for me. The look the feel the tone, it was a match made in heaven, it screams out my favorite blues tunes with ease, and that slim taper neck is faster than lightning and as smooth as butter. I will have this guitar for the rest of my life, it's a part of my family now, and an extension of myself... i love it.

WOW!!

By GREG STONE

from MoHo, Cali

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus '60s Neck Profile Electric Guitar:

Bought this just before X-Mass. What a KILLER ax!!! The AA top in Trans Ebony is just beautiful!!! The sonic articulation if this guitar is gonna be hard to match. Vol/Treb full on gives a searing lead tone while rolling off to taste gives you a very Zeppy tone. This is a MUST for any discerning Guitar Collection!!!
