The Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom Flower Pot Inlay Electric Guitar starts with the legendary tonewood pairing of a solid carved maple top glued to a mahogany body. Marrying maple' clarity and definition to mahogany' richness and depth produces a tonal complexity that no single-wood guitar has ever matched. Its resonance and sustain are only further enhanced by the deep-set quartersawn mahogany neck with 17-degree back-angled headstock.

Optimum playability is ensured by a slim, comfortable neck profile that measures .800 at the 1st fret and .875 at the 12th. The guitar' 22-fret fingerboard is rosewood, inlaid with trapezoid markers and enhanced by a mother of pearl Gibson headstock logo and pot inlay.

To ensure that all of these constructional features translate to the purest, richest tone possible, Gibson loads the Les Paul Classic Custom with a pair of '57 Classic humbucking pickups, routed through the traditional four-knob and three-way switch control section.

Made with genuine Alnico II magnets and wound with enamel-coated 42-AWG wire just like the hallowed PAF pickups of the late 1950s and early '60s, the '57 Classics yield creamy warm tones in the neck position and plenty of growl and snarl in the bridge, with funky, round tones in between.

A pairing of tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece ensure solid sustain and accurate intonation, while a set of premium Grover kidney-button tuners make tune-up a breeze.

Each guitar comes protected in a black hardshell case with plush lining, and includes an owner's manual and adjustment literature.

Should hold it's value.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom Flower Pot Inlay Electric Guitar:

Pros: Low action achievable without fret buzz. 60's slim taper neck. Quality of the finish. Nice sustain. Deep, rich rosewood fret board. Hardware top notch. Nice case. Cons: PCB board. Easy fix, however. Cost-savings for Gibson. I compared the 57's with the PCB board to an Epi with Pro-Buckers and the Epi sounded better. I understand the flowerpot concept. However, not my thing.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom Flower Pot Inlay Electric Guitar:

I went in GC looking at the Les Paul Traditional Pro. I played it, and it sounded nice, but wasn't quite what I was hoping. It lacked brightness (the one I tried) and I know that's a complaint of LP's. The GC Salesguy helping me suggested taking a look at this guitar... I was happy he did. It shared the Coil-Taps, but with different pick ups (A slightly mellower neck pickup). This lacked the flamed maple top, but man the tone was amazing. It had a sheen to it I don't think I had heard in an LP. Some might see this as a detractor, but to me it could be dialed in and out, and paired really well with my Marshall DSL40c that I upgraded with a Celestion Gold Alnico. This guitar has an amazing musical quality to it. I tried 4 or 5 more and kept coming back. The set-up was off, so I took it to my local luthier and he dialed it in. We changed the springs to 10's, adjusted the neck, filed the nut, pick height and intonation, and the frets seems glassy and played really well out of the box. That was $95 with 3 sets of strings... and I am a BIG proponent of paying for a set-up on ANY guitar... so, with that work done, this things rails. It hangs with anything I can throw at it, but it always retains an amazing musical quality. When I play a chord, I would say the sensation is hearing every note. Where this would not be stellar- highly over driven, gainy amp settings (like the lead 2) require backing down the treble knob a bit. I run this through a JHS modded Soul Food, a Green Rhino, a DOD 8-band eq and into the amp. I play mostly the clean channel and use the gain and pedal to drive the tubes... it's amazing. I run a Holy Grail Max in the effect loop for stunning reverb and I am super happy. I also have a MIM Strat with a Seymore Duncan bridge humbucker which loves the lead channel, and a 2014 SG Junior that is fun as well. Owning a few guitars, the LP is the one that I play and get the "ohhhh yeah...." feeling. The lacquered neck is not as fast moving as the SGJ or Strat satin finish, but its got a great tone. The coil-splitting is cool, and I use it mostly to get vintage tones (P-90 ish). My set-up now sounds great and my friends love playing through it. I am far from a pro, more of a returning hobbyist... and it's hard to put this down...
