Gibson J-185

By James Beimel

Comments about Gibson J-185 True Vintage Acoustic Guitar:

Beautiful Guitar and awsome sound only problem I see is Gibson is very sloppy on their neck angle, making a neck job a real possibility. For the money you would expect more effort here. martin had the same problem but improved their quality control. I own several Gibsons and do not see a consistency in their quality control. Their name may not always get them over the speed bumps. Especially if they repeat their performance from 69 to 82. If you censor my observation I will take it as a termination of our business. Thanks

My Favorite Guitar

By 3 Feet High

Comments about Gibson J-185 True Vintage Acoustic Guitar:

I bought a Gibson J-185 a few years ago and am just constantly amazed what a great sounding guitar it is compared to many other models and brands costing much more. The build on the J-185 I own is rock solid while being light weight. The tonal range from bass to midrange to treble is perfectly balanced with projection to die for. I have played it regularly at gigs for the last six years and only recently purchased another guitar just to give it a break from almost constant use. I don't know if they are all built or sound this good but I just feel so fortunate to own this guitar that I just gush when ever anybody asks me about it. I would give it more stars if I could.

A true phenom....

Comments about Gibson J-185 True Vintage Acoustic Guitar:

I was lucky enough to play this guitar in a Gibson Showcase store in Nashville recently and it is truly a work of art. Everything from the bridge to the headstock is just elegant. Not only does it look great, it sounds even better. I currently own a (much less expensive) Alvarez RD8C and while it is by far my favorite guitar, it doesn't even compare to the tone and quality that the Gibson J-185 does. If you can afford it, definitely buy this guitar!
