Overview

The Gibson J185 EC Blues King Electro Acoustic-Electric Guitar has one of the most curvaceous bodies in all of guitardom with a vast expanse of solid spruce that belts out a huge, sweet tone. That tone is captured perfectly by the Fishman Prefix pickup and shaped by active side-mounted tone controls. Flamed maple back and sides add to its hot looks, as do an abalone rosette, gold tuners, and an ebony fretboard inlaid with mother-of-pearl parallelograms. Fully bound top, back, neck, and headstock.

AWESOME PLAYABILITY, INCREDIBLE SOUD (LOOKS ALSO)

Comments about Gibson J-185 EC Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am mainly an solid body electric player (Les Pauls, Strats, Etc., I own approx. 25 various vintage and modern electrics - all very high-end). I've been playing for about 35 years (still know how to Rock!). This guitar immediately felt natural to me. Access above the 12th fret is a breeze and it has the feel and profile of a Les Paul to me. I think that must be why I took to it so well. I'm primarily a soloist and you can actually solo as you would on your solid body. The crisp tone (acoustically), and the dead-on intonation and action which I setup myself, it just striking. If you are looking for something like I just described you owe it to yourself to try this guitar. I had never heard of this model before I saw it I had a Taylor 814 in mind (which is also a great acoustic but it still feels like an acoustic, if you know what I mean). I played the J-185CE for about 20 minutes and immediately bought it. Additionally, The Awesome Flame and MOP inlays and Ebony FB make it just a pleasure to look at. TRY IT!
