I know this guitar has it critics because it is not what you would expect Gibson to produce. This guitar screams, cries, wails and if you turn down the volume and roll the tone knob back it sings. I have a Les Paul Traditional, a USA Strat,SG,PRS 22 and other guitars. This is my favorite of all my guitars. If you play blues, rock or metal you can't go wrong with this guitar. I also like the way it looks although some people say the pickguard looks like Elvis's pants. I have one friend who laughed at it but, after hearing it, he said he wants to order one. If you're afraid of what others will think when they see you on stage with it at least buy one for the studio or...the hell with what people think and shut them up when you crank it up...
Bought on for my Son ....... it sounds and plays incredible. With the Alnico 2 in the neck and the alnico 5 in the bridge ..... you can place soft and mellow on the neck or rip it on the bridge, but the middle setting is my favorite. One bad was that the guitar was not even close to being set up properly, our tech squared that away and it sounds 10x better now. We have a custom American Stratocaster Deluxe, a custom Casino, a Les Paul Robot, Jackson dinky, Strat VG, and the "EYE" guitar is all he wants to play. This is a great deal for the price. Hope you get one.
