I bought this guitar from GC in Vegas . It rocks. Up until then I've been all about my strat.Man the combo of these pick ups are sick.I play punk and reggae style music so this may seem like an odd choice , but I am telling this guitar is easy to play .It's really light and it sounds great both on gain and clean. This guitar has a bound neck and rose wood fret board which means it looks and plays smooth and fast. The sound is warm and awesome but playability is the best feature of the guitar.I have had about ten different guitars "electric" and this is my new favorite. But you should always test before you buy!Everyone is different.
This guitar owns. I picked it up randomly at guitar center and plugged it into a peavey 112 valve king. The distortion sound was nice and warm. Very thick too. I was afraid to try the clean channel because from past expirience i knew that open coiled pickups did not sound nice on clean. Man was i wrong, this guitar was amazing for clean almost as good as the closed coiled them selves. The only drawback for this guitar is the the neck and the body meet to rearly so it's somewhat a challange to reach the 21 and 22 fret. But other than that the guitar is great. Fast neck (though somewhat sticky), great sound, not to metion the lightweight body which is new for explorers, and the overall sound is just amazing. Id buy this guitar if you're into Hard Rock/ Heavy metal, it gives you a warm punchy sound. If you mostly play Punk or classic rock id probably go for something else.
