Overview

"Elegantly upgraded features on a popular compact ES tone machine describes the Gibson ES-349 perfectly. The popular scaled-down ES-339 dimensions get the ES-345 treatment with split-parallelogram inlays, gold hardware, multi-ply binding and sweet sounding Memphis Historic Spec Humbucker pickups. ES-349 tone can be likened to its 1 larger brother, the famous Gibson ES-335. But the feel is more like holding a Les Paul in body width and depth.

The tone begins with a Maple/Poplar/Maple body, just like the original Gibson Semi hollow ES electrics that first arrived in 1958. And also just like 1958, the top bracing is Quarter Sawn Adirondack Spruce joined to the top with old world Hide Glue reducing the glue film barrier between woods that would normally occur using modern aliphatic resin glues.

The Genuine Mahogany neck is based on Gibson's comfortable modern C contour, and is glued into the body using traditional mortise and tenon joinery. Thanks to the solid neck joint, the body and neck resonate as a single unit enhancing full tonal bandwidth with enhanced mids and lows, and providing sustain found in few other Semi Hollow electric guitars.

A hand bound fingerboard with hand rolled edges provide comfort normally found on well played instruments. Old Style Double Ring Tulip Button tuning machines anchor a system that includes a 1.675 wide Bone Nut across 22 perfectly aligned and crowned Medium Jumbo frets set up to tolerances of .001 (thank you PLEK), firmly anchored into a 12" radius Rosewood fingerboard. Gibsons 3 way adjustable ABR-1 non wire bridge keeps you in tune, and a rock solid Gibson Stop Tailpiece anchors the assembly and creates an immovable foundation maximizing tone and sustain.

2015 Memphis electronics include 2 Memphis Historic Spec vintage sounding Humbucker pickups, 4 hand matched potentiometers, unbalanced Orange Drop capacitors that add a clarity in the Rhythm pickup that has to be heard, and the in demand Memphis Tone Circuit. All combine for the cleanest of clean, and the nastiest growl that match up with almost every musical need.

This Limited Edition comes with a Gibson Hardshell Case and the famous Gibson Limited Lifetime Warranty.
