I purchased the tri-burst model. Very beautiful! I have a Fender American Strat, a Gibson Les Paul 2008 Standard, a Martin DCAURA and a Gretsch Silver Falcon. This ES345, for me, is the most fun to play. The tone and action is something to behold. I did feel the need to lower the bridge a bit; improved the action even further with no resultant string buzz. Itۡs such a joy to play a guitar that just feels right. Canۡt say enough good things about it. If you want a really fantastic guitar and donۡt mind the price tag, buy it!
I needed a jazzier guitar for my high school jazz band so I checked this guitar out. The depth of this guitar gives an unbelievable tone yet it's not dark sounding. It gives me enough flexibility to give the brightest sound without sounding too trebley. And I use this for my own stuff too. I have experienced playing and writing more jazz and blues songs and has inspired me to widen my tone range and different sounds making me a better musician.
It just doesn't get any better for Blues guitarists like me. I started playing in 1963, and I had an original 1963 Model of this guitar that I traded into in the 70's. It was like a wife to me. The look, feel and TONE of these is phenominal. This ES-345 reissue I have now is actually better...Gibson nailed the PAF pickups and it sounds just as good to me as my 63 did. I say better because it's like having a brand new 50 year old guitar. I love the old style Tulip tuners. Someone had changed out the original tuners on my 63 and replaced them with those heavy Grovers. That makes these guitars top-heavy, and they don't look right. This is the only semi-hollow 335 type Gibson reissue that comes with the correct tuners and it's a delight to play! Yes, it's a little pricey...But man it's WORTH it! Don't forget these NEVER go down in value...Just up! The Vari-Tone switch will give you a nice single coil Strat sound...I use it for Hendrix ballads like "Little Wing" I run it through my 100 watt Marshall DSL & 160 AV Bottom that I also got a great deal on at Guitar Center. You can get incredible Tone to the Bone with just about any amp with this faithful reissue. Cheers to Gibson for getting it right on this one!
This guitar is amazing for blues guitarists, or any guitarist for that matter! It has a deep bluesy tone. Its beautiful to listen to. Great action. This is the best Gibson blues guitar out there!
