Overview

With its solid maple center block, arched top, f-holes, and chambered wings, the ES-335 Dot gave players the resonance of a solidbody with the refined looks of a traditional Gibson archtop and reduced weight of a thinline. This Custom Shop Memphis reissue has the rounded neck and dot markers that would change to a thinner profile and block inlays in 1962. Its beautiful tone and versatility has made the ES-335 a classic favorite of guitarists across all music genres.

A VERY GREAT GUITAR

By GIOVANNI INNOCENTI

from ROME - ITALY

I've played some time this memorable guitar. It's, for me, the best guitar thet Gibson had ever made. It's perfect for blues and jazz. I've a Gibson SG Standard, original USA 1967, and a Fender Stratocaster Standard Plus, original USA 1988, but ES 335 is a very dream for me and I hope to buy it early. Thanks Gibson for ES 335. Flawless

By Andrew David Perkins

from Fenton, MI

Took a while to arrive on order, but it is absolutely perfect. Neck profile is fat, but not ridiculous. Some of the rounded 50's profile Pauls are thicker, but this is definitely chunkier than the 60's profile. Binding is perfect and aged to an antique cream. Body thickness is 1/4 inch thinner than other 335 models, period correct. I split the neck pup and it's the most versatile instrument I can imagine.

One minor problem; many more pros

By Ryan A.

from San Diego, CA

I'm a bit of a fan of vintage sounds, and nothing sounds more classic rock or bluesy than an ES-335. The pickups have a nice tone which is perfect for almost anything, even for more modern forms of rock. The only problem is that it's a bit heavy, but you should expect that from any semi-solid guitar. Try it with a Marshall amp for the best results, whether your style is a bit aggressive like rock or even a bit laid back like ska

Blues Guitar that works

By Timothy A. Collins

from Cincinnati, OH

I played this guitar many of times and for quality it is great and for blues playing I think it is a guitar you need to have in your future. It also is great for Jazz playing with smooth tones. The cost is a little high but if you can swing it this the one you would only need.
