The Les Paul Studio has always been a truly versatile guitar to take anywhere else you need top performance in a Gibson. This year's Les Paul Studio 2017 HP takes the concept to a whole new level, both in looks and performance. Sonic versatility is comprehensive, yet intuitive to handle: its 2 volume and 2 two tone controls all have push-pull functions (for individual tap/split, phase, and coil selection), while 5-positions DIP switch add Neck and Bridge Pickup Tap or Split, Neck and Bridge Vol Treble Bleed control, and Transient Suppression.
High-performance playing features make it a superbly comfortable guitar, too, while a high gloss nitro finish coaxes luscious looks from a Grade-A flamed maple top complemented by pearl trapezoid inlays and chrome-plated hardware. Delivered in a Gibson High Performance super premium stamped aluminum case, along with a Gibson premium leather strap, a Gibson multi-tool and a polishing cloth.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Studio HP Electric Guitar:
Beautiful looking and sounding guitar with great play ability. In comparison to my 2015 LPM I find the pinging sound from the nut when bending is totally gone which is great! The fast access heel is a nice touch as well, it's very comfortable when playing higher notes. The G-Force really isn't anything to complain about...I love it. The improved control switch really is silent when switching and the volumes knobs even though look like plastic in the photos are actually metal. I am still getting use to the dip switches and all the sound options but so far I really love just the standard les paul sound it has.
Only negatives are that the neck volume knob is a little wobbly, not the post it sits on but the actual knob itself has some wiggle room. There is also a slight finish flaw on the edge of the maple top. Maybe it was a knot in the wood that didn't take the stain very well? Never the less, it is barely noticeable and surely nothing to really complain about when you get this awesome guitar for free!
