Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Standard HP Electric Guitar:

Most expensive guitar I've purchased and I don't regret it. I could list all the pros (there's a lot) but if your going to consider this level of investment then stop reading reviews, go to the store and take one for a test drive. The only thing I'm not sold on is a tuner attached to the back of the headstock. Not that I'm against the idea, just kinda feel like that would be a accessory reserved for a more entry level guitar. The tuning keys are different/new tech than what I'm accustom to but having only had the guitar for a couple weeks the jury is still out. Overall it looks, sounds and plays awesome

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Standard HP Electric Guitar:

I received two of the blueberry before switching to the bourbon. My guess is the color variation between guitars is much greater with the blueberry, and what i received didn't look like I wanted. The bourbon is incredible, but that's personal taste.

One knob was a bit loose so I had to pull it off and spread the pot a touch and reinstall it.

The gForce tuners work well after the offsets are set. I set accuracy to 6, then tuned over and over until it made it through without adjutment. I then used a tuner to measure how far off each string was. I wrote down how far off each string was and then set the offsets for each string and tried again. Some strings were right on, others required the full 12 cent offset to pull in. Once I was happy with the pitch I then set the accuracy to 4 of 6 to avoid unnecessary adjustments. The offsets are set for each tuning, but so far I've only set up e standard. When I manually adjust the pegs and then press the button and strum it will usually pull in 4 strings and then indicate that I should pluck the remaing two once ot twice then it is in tune.

When I try some other tunings I'll probablg spend 1/2 hour tweaking offsets the ver first time, but gForce should remember them from that point on. Hopefully they will not be lost when the battery eventually needs to be recharged.

The guitar is beautiful and the sound is brighter than expected, but if the tone is rolled off a touch it allows you to put it where you want it. The variety of tones is incredible, and the push / pull for out of phase sounds great. It plays nice and the contoured neck joint feels very natural.

It sounds good through my Blues Jr III, the Marshall DSL5c, and even works well with Rocksmith if I switch to the bridge pickup and split/tap the coil to avoid confusing the Rocksmith cable.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Standard HP Electric Guitar:

I've heard about Gibson having some quality care concerns but after being lucky enough to have 4 other Gibson guitars in my life, and never having an issue, I thought it was a myth. With this one, my luck finally ran out though. Issue after issue... finish flaws, to pick up issues and then back to finish issues. BUT, my friends at GC took great care of me and Gibson gave no hassle with any of the exchanges so all in all they did a great job. It's not whether you have challenges its more about how you handle them. Thanks to Gibson and the GC team for getting me through to this perfect guitar that is what I was hoping for in the 1st place.

Awesome Sounds and Playability

By A Real Treat and Sound Powerhouse

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Standard HP Electric Guitar:

Now having been playing my 2017 Les Paul Standard HP for over 6 months I can honestly say I 'am impressed. Being my first Gibson, I thought there was something wrong with the sound and maybe it wasn't setup properly. Dah? .. this is what a Les Paul sounds like. Coming from Strats, Telecasters and High-end Acoustics, the Les Paul has a very different sound and feel. I have both Fender and Marshall Amps and it sounds great with both. I recommend anyone not owning a Gibson Les Paul to pony up and get one, you will love it.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Standard HP Electric Guitar:

It's great, so glad I bought it and was hard to choose a color and be different. I went with the bourbon burst, tuned it, which is a great invention. Then I saw the Classic Green Burst HP with chrome hardware also, and said "have to have it". Barely put it down, but the Bourbon Standard HP also looks so nice, not sure I want to open it until studio and half stack are set up first. Lol.

Absolutely amazing quality for the price, the only thing is I would want there to be a version of the HP which has no electronic tuning. Other then that, PERCECT!
