Overview

The 2016 Les Paul Studio T with Gold Hardware is ideal for the serious guitarist who wants a great performer, but needs to stay within budget. This year's model is available with a carved maple top over a weight-relieved mahogany body in a wide selection of cool colors, all in a thin, high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The exclusive finishing process is labor intensive and isn't just about looks, but helps define this model's exceptional tone.

The neck features Gibson's traditional nut width that players love and a thicker, one-piece rosewood fingerboard that offers better feel and sustain. All Les Paul models this year come with a self-lubricating Graph Tech nut that helps in tuning and lets strings return to pitch following heavy string bending. Electronics feature Gibson' popular 490R and 498T humbuckers with alnico magnets for rich, singing tones in all positions.

Traditional manual tuners add a vintage vibe while providing smooth and efficient performance. Set up at the factory by experts, the 2016 Les Paul Studio T is ready for immediate action and comes in a traditional brown hardshell case.

Such an amazing instrument! Plays like a great guitar should and will be a muse to any serious musician! I have played with the 2016 studio for about a month now logging many hours on Caroline. Truly an amazing guitar! The sounds that you can unleash from its soul will help you create and should inspire you for years to come. She has a few minor paint flaws but it's really about the sound and feel. Set up well even straight out of the case. Changed the stock strings to My personal favorites and I expect to have this Gibson in my collection until I'm passed on.Thank you,Gibson!

I was going to use this axe for a play at home instrument. But sorry to burst everyones bubble who gave this a 5 but I just cant do it. I feel like an axe for 13 or 14000 dollars ought to be better than this. Evidently
the person who inspected this going out the door must have had eyesight problems On the 7th fret top edge of the board was a lighter color than anywhere else on the fretboard. On top of that some goof ball
even had the nerve to put lacquer, nitro, etc. what ever useless cheap material they use these days over the 1inch light yellow collored wood. Wake up Gibson. They really not not improved. Just in price. And they sell beat up ones used on GC which are better than this.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio T Electric Guitar:

I researched all Les Laul models for 2016 online, played them all at the guitar center. Gibson studio had the sound that I was looking for. It's beautiful clean and solid overdrive with the tube amp gain turned up. I Got both in ebony and Vintage Sunburst because I couldn't decided witch one I like better. I ended up keeping vintage sunburst it had more pronounced punch to the sound I don't know maybe it's just me. Hands down The best guitar that I've ever played, thank you Gibson

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio T Electric Guitar:

This is by far the best Gibson I've ever come across outside of a custom model which I could never afford. I owned a Les Paul traditional a couple years ago but I hated it. There were defects and quality issues so I ended up selling it. I had also played some 2014-15 Studio models that just seemed cheap.

But then, WOW! I decided to check out the 2016 models. I don't know what happened at Gibson over the last couple years but they have definitely tightened up the screws with quality and overall presentation. After testing a 2016 Les Paul Studio, I had my local GC store order me one in Vintage Sunburst. I paid the special $10 2 day holiday shipping. Ordered it on Sunday and had it Tuesday morning delivered to the store. I planned extra time when I went to have the tech adjust the setup because I assumed it'd be off. I was very wrong. I have never had a new guitar that played perfectly out of the box. The setup was PERFECT. No buzz, great intonation, great sound. The overall quality is 1000% better than any Les Paul I've played. I desperately tried to find a flaw and eventually only noticed a 2mm spot where the clear coat finish was chipped along one of the very upper frets on the "thumb side" of the neck. I could hardly notice and that was the ONLY thing I could find. Not an issue. This guitar sounds great, looks great and is the classic heirloom Gibson I always wanted. This will be passed down to my kids one day. The classic tan case with the pink lining is a great addition. Now Gibson also includes a setup checklist in the case with a bench photo taken when it was set up. Check these out. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio T Electric Guitar:

Gibson may have listened to pro players and started making decent guitars again with all of the robot junk. This guitar has traditional Gibson specs and plays, feels, and sounds good. The thin nitro finish is a plus in my book and does not kill the natural resonance of the instrument. It should age well and sounds good unplugged. I hope Gibson will continue to focus on making great guitars and stop trying to be an innovator with all of the robotic tuner zero fret nut junk. This guitar is a good one and as a pro player I would recommend it

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio T Electric Guitar:

This is an amazing guitar! I had an Epiphone LP Standard for a few years, and traded it in with some other equipment to get it. Well worth it.

Only complaint is the input Jack is plastic. Strap slipped and the cable had enough impact pressure to break it. Had it checked out and it replaced with a chrome one. Got strap locks too, so invest on those two mods if you decide to keep it.

I can tell the tone difference and I had to adjust my playing style which is a good thing. Barely had to tune out of the box. The push pots are awesome. I had to give up my effects pedal for the trade, but who needs one with this guitar.

              Awesome investment.

Picked this up at the GC in Marietta, The Les Paul needed minor tweaks to set intonation. The Fit and finish is what you would expect from Gibson. Excellent sound and great to play.
The staff at the Marietta location made this a fast and pleasurable purchase.

I have a SG Standard T, and I thought that would always be my go to guitar until I got the LP Studio T. I coulnd't put the darn thing down! It's a jamming machine! I love the SG, but the LP packs more punch and has a better quality tone. I guess it's because of the difference in the wood, which I think is petrified. Kidding, though it is noticeably heavier than any guitar I've ever played. I went back to GC today and bought the EP Booster by Exotic. Besides the boost, it accentuates the tone. Fantastic guitar with a nice case!
