Comments about Gibson 2016 Explorer T Electric Guitar:

I have wanted an explorer for a long time and originally wanted it in black, that was until i saw it hanging on the wall at G.C. The cherry finish looks incredible. The 496R and 500T pickups are hot and excellent for metal. Melt your face hot, I love the sound of this guitar. I did have to adjust the bridge pickup slightly due to clipping ,was set to high. The only dissapointment was the G.C. web site and competitors all say it comes with mini locking grover tuners but they are not. Again, the quality and craftsmanship are what you would expect of a Gibson USA guitar .I just wish Gibson would wake up and realize 90% of the people don't want a gig bag ,so at least make it available for purchase. That goes for the V as well. I would buy them both tomorrow if they were offered.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Explorer T Electric Guitar:

I haven't set my explorer down since I've received it in the mail. Even though it came in a gig bag instead of a hard shell case the guitar looked like it was straight off the factory floor the cherry red finish pops the wood grain through from underneath giving it that classic 70's vibe. Simple electronics and ready to roll just the way I like it. The neck is awesome wide and easy to get into the frets higher up on the fretboard. Stays in tune very well too and I play pretty hard so I'm happy I have a guitar that can keep up with me.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Explorer T Electric Guitar:

I've used this guitar in the studio as well as on stage and it just blows me away. It seems like every other day I discover some new tone I can get out of it by tweaking the volume and tone knobs and my Marshall head. I love it, but the gig bag should be considered an embarrassment to Gibson. I don't get why it didn't just come with a hard case, and will never understand it. Investing in a hard case is unwise because I'll never get the money back I would pay for it if I sold the guitar privately (and especially so on trade in). I don't get why a guitar company would ship such a wonderful instrument in such a poor method of protection, but I still own my Explorer and I'm glad I do. 4 rather than 5 stars because of the gig bag.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Explorer T Electric Guitar:

This is my first Explorer, and I'm loving this thing. I've been playing well over 40 years, and have had many guitars, I'm not a beginner. Just wanted to say that to qualify what I'm saying. I don't have large hands, so wider fretboards, and thicker necks aren't my favorite. The neck on this is among the best I've ever wrapped my hands around. Wide intervals are a breeze. Access to the 24th fret? You got it. I have a hard time putting this thing down.

How does it sound? Awesome. Running through my Marshall JVM410, or my 5150, this thing rocks. Creamy mid-range that cuts through the mix.

Why the hell does this come with a gig bag? It's a fairly tight fit and it gives me nightmares imagining the headstock getting snapped off. And you do need to get used to walking through doorways with this sucker. I thought my Flying V stuck out there. I've just come to the conclusion there are going to be dings on her.
