Comments about Gibson 2013 SG Deluxe Electric Guitar:

After contemplating one of these since they came out in 2013, I purchased an SG Deluxe in Red Fade in December 2014. The finish is quite nice and there were no blemishes whatsoever. I had two strings that had slipped out of the locking turners as I un-cased the guitar. Be sure to have a spare set of strings on hand if you un-box one of these new. I also took the .010 gauge strings off and changed to 009?s. That allowed the neck to relax a bit and made playing much easier. I play through tube and solid state amps. I have not been disappointed yet. The tog-pot and stock pickups allows me to dial in a variety of tones that cover bright cleans to over-driven to distorted. The Bigsby is like the fins on the old cars of the 50?s. Its nice to look at, but really doesn?t do much. Maybe with a roller nut it would stay in tune, but with the stock nut it won?t be long before you?re out of tune.
