I have the pleasure to own this baby, and this guitar is amazing! some pros I've found on it: - light weight - great sustain! - powerful pick ups! - beautiful finish. - lot of versatility - the neck is perfect for a lot of music styles, like blues, rock, jazz. - this baby rocks! some cons: - it gets dirty very fast - some plastic parts (that you can change for some better quality) In sound and making i have no complaints. Great Guitar! God bless you!
I own a '06 model. After I set it up to my playing style I found it to be a dream. I have played and own several Gibson Les Paul guitars and I am kind of a purist, I don't modify any of my guitars anymore (other than set-up and string change). I feel the soul of a guitar speaks just as it is created, as the master builder made it to do. This guitar speaks volumes... tone-filled soft whispers to tear your flesh rage. My unconditional favorite. My partner in every gig I play (well, I do use some of my others but it just isn't the same). I'd put it up against any guitar out there.
This is without a doubt one of the greatest guitars ever! I've played a Standard and a Custom for many years and saved up to get this one just for the cosmetics and collector's appeal- but since I bought it, the others have not been out of their cases. It sounds every bit as thick and creamy as the Custom and Standard without the weight. The attention to detail in craftsmanship is unbelievable. The price seems a bit steep at first, but not for a work of art like this. I also like the idea of no back access plates, just a figured maple bottom. (I don't plan on changing the pickups anyway.) If you are playing anything from metal to jazz and country, this will do them all with tons of flavor. Bravo Gibson!
Wow...This thing sounds as good as it looks, which is just beautiful. If you have the money, Get it! You can't go wrong with this guitar. It's like a work of art, You all most don't want to take it out of it's case, all most. I'm very please with this purchase. Thanks guys.
