The kind of pickup your mom warned you about!

The Gibson Tony Iommi Guitar Pickup is the same humbucker that Tony uses in his Signature Gibson SG to give Black Sabbath its legendary sound. Unique design delivers heavy punch, balanced lows, blistering mids, and razor-edged highs. Patented magnet configuration and special wire winding ensure maximum sustain; wax and epoxy potting prevent unwanted feedback. 4-conductor wiring for any desired wiring design.

Excellent pickup but way overpriced

I have played the Iommi g-400 that had these pickups and they sounded great. Best distortion I've heard in my life. Before, the chrome ones were $120 a piece, and I wanted to save up for them, but now the price is jacked up $40 more dollars. It is a very good pickup but too expensive. I would just go with Rockfield pickups instead. They are way cheaper but sound as good as any overpriced Gibson, Seymour Duncan, or Dimarzio pickup.

Tony Iommi Signature Pickup is a Winner!

We bought a Black Version of this Gibson Signature Series about a year ago for a black SG Jr. (single pickup) guitar and it is truly wonderful, but don't take our word for it, as we don't really want our guitars to sound like everyone else's anyway! We just bought the Chrome model for a black Ibanez, three pickup, basswood body, guitar that is being setup right now. On this guitar we will be trying the Gibson Iommi in the Bridge, an Angus Young in the neck and a Fender SCN in the middle - we'll see what happens!
