  • Works on Epiphones

As reviewed by David Kelley on 1/12/2011

I just wanted to write this review to any Epiphone owners know that I was able to install these on my Epiphone Sheraon II with no modifications whatsoever. They look beautiful and hold a tuning much better than the stock epiphone machine heads.

  • A better tuner for your Gibson or Epiphone

As reviewed by Scott B on 2/26/2009

I was very satisfied with these tuning keys after my purchase. Although not specifically stated in the ad description, these tuners (if they are like most of the high end Grovers) come with an 18:1 gear ratio which is superior to the green key machine heads which only have a 15:1 gear ratio. (I am also not certain about this, but I've also heard that the stock keys that come with the Epiphones only have a 14:1 gear ratio.) As far as the installation of the tuners, there is no drilling required, and the holes on the headstock do not need to be reamed or drilled out. It took me only 30 minutes to install these tuners on my Gibson Les Paul Studio, and since then I have not had issues with my guitar going out of tune. The tulip head is also very classy.
