Time-honored features plus figured maple top.
The Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Plus electric guitar has all the traditional features you expect from a Les Paul: mahogany body and set neck, figured maple top and a pair of Gibson's awesome '57 Classic humbucker pickups. The Plus on this guitar is the gorgeous, figured maple top—just the right touch on this iconic rock machine. One not-so-traditional improvement—the neck has been dressed by Gibson's Plek machine, a computer-controlled robot that analyzes the neck, files the frets, and cuts the slots on the nut to a hundredth of a millimeter accuracy for optimal action and intonation without string buzzing.

NEW REVIEW - Les Paul For The Rest of my Life
This is my first Gibson guitar. I wanted a guitar that will stay with me for a life time with great quality. I felt that this guitar is worth the investment. The fret board is comfortable as well as the 1950's profile neck. This make it easier for my extra large hands to play with this guitar. The ice tea color scheme is absolutely gorgeous. I look at the back of the guitar and I could see how nice the color is with the appearance of a glossy rosewood color on the mahagony neck and body. This guitar has great clean sound and even with the reverb effects. The distortion is much better than my 40 year old Japanese guitar. If you can't afford a Custom Gibson guitar than I would recommend for anyone to buy the Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus.

A Classic "Traditional" !!!
I just got one this month, and aside of its beautiful traditional looks (a classic Les Paul Standart), It plays incredible ! Very well done ,and
from my many years of experience, it feels like a real instrument, great resonance that you can feel when it's played with out amplification !
The playability is incredible , you can bent your strings two steps a la Howling Wolf with out choking the notes .
Also , for my personal preference , I do love the warm smooth classic sound of the 57 classic Humbucker. If you are looking for a Traditional Les Paul Standart......... this is the one !!!

Before you buy another guitar TRY the Traditional
Being a Gilmour fanatic I always owned Fenders. Then I borrowed a tricked out Studio and fell in love with Gibsons. Needing one of my own, I labored over choosing between the 2008 Traditional and the Custom. The Traditional has immaculate craftsmanship and the unchambered weight is reminiscent of the 80s Les Paul. The rosewood neck tone is amazing and the sustain is remarkable. Through a Marshall half stack, this guitar sounds like dark melted chocolate that actually stunned the band when we first heard it. As a practical plus, it provides diversity from the Custom sound which imho is brighter by comparison. I couldn't be happier with this guitar. By the way, I haven't tuned it in a week and its still spot on.

An iconic classic
Perfection sums up my opinion on this guitar. I've always wanted to own a Gibson LP and I'm glad I chose this one. I tried and almost bought the Vintage Mahogany LP, but this one was just in a class by itself. All the touches are perfect and I can't put it down. Tone and action are superb; by far the best electric guitar I've owned.

Nice job Gibson!
I got mine back in August. I got the desert burst finish, which is beautiful! I love the tone of the '57 hum bucking
pickups and the '50s neck. I also like that fact that this is one of few Les Pauls with a non chambered body....it
feels more like the LPs of bygone days. I have always wanted a Les Paul and this one fills the bill nicely. Great
job Gibson!
