Gibson Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar (580091)
Availability:

The choice of numerous rock legends, the LP Jr embodies the pure simplicity of rock 'n' roll.

Today's Gibson Les Paul Junior electric guitar captures many of the same details and intensity as the original, including a 24-3/4" scale length mahogany neck that meets the body at the 16th fret, a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard (ebony on the Satin white finish model), Gibson's traditional rounded-neck profile, a wraparound bridge/tailpiece, and a single Gibson P-90 pickup that faithfully delivers all the power and punch expected from their single-coil pickup. Includes all chrome hardware, acrylic dot inlays, Gibson's silk-screened logo on the headstock, and a Corian pre-radiused nut. The Les Paul Junior comes with a plush Gibson gig bag.Gibson's legendary P-90 guitar pickupThe P-90, introduced in the early 1950s, is Gibson's truly hallowed single-coil pickup and offers the soulful, classic tone that only a P-90 can. Delivering more warmth than a standard single-coil pickup, with higher output and sweet treble response, the P-90 continues to be one of the most popular pickups today, offering a distinct and powerful tone that remains unmatched in the face of relentless impersonation. As the competition to develop and market affordable and professional built solidbody electric guitars was heating up in the mid 1950s, Gibson branched out into new directions that would yield a wide variety of innovative Gibson products at various price points. Among these new products was their Les Paul Junior single cutaway model, which quickly became Gibson's best-selling model and the instrument of choice for such legends as Leslie West, Steve Marriot, Keith Richards, Mick Ralphs, Mick Jones, Billie Joe Armstrong and Paul Westerberg. • BETTER THAN A REGULAR LES PAUL!!!

As reviewed by Punx Not Dead on 2/18/2009

This is the BEST guitar that has ever been made. The P-90 pickup just screams away when you crank the distortion. The neck isn't like holding a baseball bat like a regular Les Paul. It is very light, and comfortable. This guitar doesn't mess around at all it takes no crap from anything. It is what i would call the definitive Rock'n'Roll guitar.

  • sweet sounding rock machine

As reviewed by jeremy on 7/9/2009

no doubt , these things rock . i got mine (2004 model) 2nd hand (virtually untouched) in 2004. a real nice girl found me THE PROPER size skb hard case too . . that was about 5 years ago. this thing looks and sounds BETTER than the day i bought it. the nitro finish is nothing short of amazing (you WILL need GIBSON polish, do not skip this, you will be sorry). my junior sounds better than most lp standards we come across (something to do with the flat top). i installed a gibson p 100 (same size as p 90) and higher grade volume and tone pots. the sound? its a killer. Through my fender blues junior its AMAZING. its raunchy and classy at the same time, go figure. ive owned/borrowed several electrics since 2004, and maybe i got lucky, but i always prefer my lp junior. in fact, i like the size/playability so much, im seriously thinking of adding a tune a matic, a neck pickup, controls, etc. these "babys" are amazing . gibson rocks !
