  • amazing

As reviewed by Tim on 6/6/2010

I have this guitar, I search through many brands and models before choosing this guitar. I know a lot of folks talk about Martin guitars, but this has the most amazing tone, feel, looks and it is so easy to play. It does not matter if I use a capo, play leads up the neck, amp it, or just play around the camp fire. this guitar delivers superb sound.

  • Worth it

As reviewed by Dan on 5/27/2010

Great full sound. The deep rosewood really makes the sound very full and explosive. You're not getting a lot of the tangy weak/high end mixes with this guitar. Very comfortable to hold and play despite the size. I usually play medium gauge strings but even the lighter gauges sound amazing on this guitar. Stays in tight and in tune and action is OK...action could be slightly better but my style of play doesn't require a lot of quick movement. Guitar worth every penny!

  • Gibson at it's BEST!

As reviewed by Echografic on 5/9/2011

After playing and listening to others play this guitar there is little to say besides awesome. If' it's not the clean midranges and deep tones it is the smell of the rosewood that will get you. Others can't compare to the quality of a Gibson and with that engulfing smell it will find a place near your heart and in your limbic system. Others at this price range including Taylor, Martin and some less expensive but equally great sounding Breedlove guitars compare well in some areas but the J-185 EC Rosewood is the complete package with comfort and play alone. Put this one on the short list of one's you just gotta have. Psst I don't work for Gibson or Guitar Center, just try it!
