Save big bucks on this modernized "no-bird" 'Bird.

The Gibson Hummingbird Artist is a square shoulder dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar handcrafted in the USA. Featuring a washed heritage cherry finish; solid, premium Sitka spruce top; and mahogany back and sides, this arresting acoustic-electric's tone is as ruby-throated as its namesake! A round mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard gives your fingers the ability to take flight over mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays.

Plug the Hummingbird guitar in and jam with an L.R. Baggs Element undersaddle transducer and preamp that keeps the look clean with an ingenious soundhole mounted volume control. Binding is 6-ply on top and 4-ply on the back. Gold keystone tuners, a mother-of-pearl crown inlay on the headstock, tortoise pickguard and a traditional Gibson rosewood bridge complete the look. Gibson includes a premium hardshell case with each Hummingbird guitar.

  • Great Tone

As reviewed by RP on 1/11/2008

I have owned this guitar for a year and a half and play/perform about six hours per week. The tone is beautiful and has a very warm accoustic sound. I play with a larger band and the sound sits right in the mid-range pocket and fills the background nicely. The neck is comfortable and fast. The finish has faded where the guitar rests on my jeans which disappointed me a bit and I have had to cut a new nut recently. Overall... fantastic.

  • A no Bird Hummingbird

As reviewed by Rudy on 10/15/2010

I have owned my no bird for 5 months and I just love it. The color, the feel of the neck and the balance of the guitar is incredible. I always have wanted a Hummingbird but could not afford one until this one came up. I know the pickguard does not have the Hummingbird like the expensive ones do. But the price is just right. The sound is loud when unplugged. Plugged in sounds great too.

  • Gibson Hummingbird Artist

As reviewed by David Bible on 5/12/2008

This guitar has the "IT" factor. One of the best sounding mahagony guitars on the market, period. It even has a sweeter tone than the original, larger Hummingbird. This ruby velvet tone blows away the J-45 and most other mahagony guitars(back&sides). The LR Baggs pickup is also great sounding, defintely equal with the Fishman pickups. The playability is smooth and the neck is like butter; very simular to the Songwriter Deluxe ,but warmer sound than the Rosewood.Rings like a bell ,even without bone nut & saddle.A great buy at this price. Grab it NOW!
