Even with its simple appointments, the Gibson F-5G Mandolin is one gorgeous instrument. The bound scroll work meets Gibson's toughest standards, the same standards used on the F-5L with top-grade materials and impeccable craftsmanship. Carved spruce top and solid maple back and sides, extended ebony fretboard, and tuned parallel tone bar produce unsurpassed tone.
This mandolin is sure one sweet instrument. As advertised it does not have all the fancy inlays, but it sure has the famous Gibson sound. It feels great right out the case. I had a F-9 Gibson whick was great also, but wanted to graduate up to a nicer mandolin. It feels, looks, plays and sounds awesome, can't ask for a better mandolin at this price. The price is alittle high, but it sure is worth the price once you have one. It brings nothing but joy to your eyes and most importantly your ears. I highly recommend buying this mandolin if you are able, you surely won't regret it.
