  • GIBSON DOVE - Don't leave home without it.

As reviewed by Guitarman on 10/20/2006

I own several Gibson acoustics and a Martin and this guitar beats them all in tone and playability. It's hard to put it down and the tone is inspirational, especially for a songwriter. Each year I have it brings a richer tone. The sound projection is strong and it responds to everything from fingerpicking to flat out power strumming. Once you have one of these you become spoiled and nothing else is ever good enough. The features are striking, and I constantly get told by people from the audience that it's the most beautiful guitar they've ever seen. Even if you have sevaral acoustics in your arsenal, this one is a must have.

  • Gibson price, feel & sound in a classic guitar!

As reviewed by wolfman1012 on 11/2/2006

The Gibson Dove is a beauty. It has the classic looks and fantastic Dove inlay on the pickguard. Parallelograms on the fretboard and sharp nickel tuning pegs! But it also has a great sound! I have heard Loretta Lynn play this thing and she makes it sound great! If I were to pick between the Dove and a Martin HD28... I'd take the Martin. It not only will save you some bucks, but the sound isn't much different at all! That said, this is an excellent guitar and you will get what you pay for!!!

  • Functional Art

As reviewed by Geofrig on 10/3/2006

I own a 1968 Gibson Dove Custom, and it is the best acoustic guitar I have ever, and I mean ever played. It has a very warm sound to it, allowing every note to blend together. The sustain is superb and the action is great. The Dove has perfect tone. I wouldn't sell my Dove for the world, it's that's good. You can't ask for a more beautiful guitar, with its MOP inlays every where and bright red back and neck, it's sure to get anyone's attention. It really is a piece of functional art. If you want an extraordinary acoustic, get a Gibson Dove, you won't be sorry.
