The 1959 Les Paul "Commemorative" guitar is a very limited run of 30 pieces produced by Gibson Custom to honor the late great Les Paul. The '59 Les Paul is considered by players and collectors alike to be the most desirable electric guitar ever created. This extraordinary "Commemorative" edition is true to the original '59 Les Paul's features and characteristics, with the addition of a commemorative truss rod cover and the unique "Les Burst" finish.
The 1959 Les Paul "Commemorative" guitar has a beautiful hand-carved "figured" maple top and a solid mahogany body. A 24-3„4' scale length neck is made from one solid piece of mahogany and has a long neck tenon joint. The bound 22-fret rosewood fingerboard has a 12' radius and is decorated with traditional Gibson trapezoid inlays. The ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge with a separate "stopbar" tailpiece provides a firm seating for the strings and allows the player to adjust and fine-tune the intonation and string height in a matter of minutes. It also yields a great union between the strings and body, which results in excellent tone and sustain.
Gibson's legendary Burstbucker pickups deliver all the subtle variations of true, classic "Patent Applied For" humbucker tone by using historically "unmatched" bobbin windings and Alnico II magnets. A BurstBucker 1 in the neck has smooth, articulate tones, while a BurstBucker 2 in the bridge position has more sting and punching power. Original spec CTS potentiometers and bumble bee capacitors complete the authentic components that recreate the amazing tone of this historic model.
Includes a hardshell case, headstock veneer plaque signed by Les Paul, Certificate of Authenticity, custom care kit, hang tag and paperwork.
